Anyone had the chance to check out Avatar in 3D mode?

IT IS AMAZING! Seriously, it's probably the best 3D game on the market. The depth and realism is crazy insane. I can't stop playing it lol.

What kind of monitor are you sporting?

    I just got a P50ST30 50" Panasonic Plasma 3D tv. It's crazy cool for 3D stuff.

    ........

Right now I'm having a normal LCD monitor for gaming. I have another one from Hyundai: S320D, which is 3D-Enabled, so I'm gonna try and test the game on that one.

    cheers.

What monitors use Passive 3D in other words I can use the glasses from the cinema? I have heard of them but don't seem to be that common.

Also if you know of any projectors that use the same system?

    Thanks

If this helps answer your query to some extent, you can first go through this FAQ listed out here:

There are a few passive 3D monitors.
The most known ones are the Zalman Trimon series, mainly because they're the cheapests and have been available for a few years (it's the one I've got), even though the prices for the new models with FullHD panels have gone up dramatically.
There's also Hyundai which has been producing them for the professional market but they're more expensive.
Finally LG arrived recently and started selling passive monitors, although I haven't been able to see them in action yet.

All these monitors use the FPR technique which divides the vertical resolution by two when wearing the glasses (half the pixels are polarised for one eye and the other half is polarised for the other eye). and the vertical view angle is really small because the pixels (pixel + polarising filter) height/depth ratio is not favorable.

These monitors are supported by the game using the interlaced 3D mode.

Passive projectors are very rare. The only product available is the LG-CF3D which is extremely expensive.
The only "affordable" solution is to make a DIY dual-projector system. Which means you have to buy two projectors + polarising filters + a screen that keeps polarisation = a silverscreen. (I also have such a system).

Dual-projectors are supported by the PC version of the game (obviously not supported by consoles since you need two video outputs), however there are some issues with the sync between the left and right eye views.
Consumer graphics card drivers do not keep multiple outputs in perfect sync, you need a feature called "frame-lock" that usually is exclusive to professional graphics cards (Nvidia quadro and ATI Firepro).
Without the frame-lock, the lag between the left and right eye views can become unbearable when there is motion.

There are work-arounds with ATI graphics cards using Eyefinity (putting the picture side by side at full resolution) but the game does not support them (the game detects the eyefinity resolution and triggers the wrong aspect ratio).
I asked UBI technical support if you could force such a support by tweaking the config file but they refused to answer, stating it was a driver issue and not their responsibility.
