Well, no one you going to send you data2.cab.

There could be several reasons why, such as dirty disc, damaged disc, IDE drivers, OS or hardware driver issues with your computer, ect.

When all else fails, you could simply return FB and get another copy.

You may want to consider the following

    http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q110742
    posting your dxdiag
copying the contents of the cd onto your hard drive and running the install from there
contact ubisoft tech support directly using the ask a question tab http://ubisoft.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/...er/std_alp.php<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

    Well,

you see, i tried copying the file to the hard drive and it couldn't actually copy the data2.cab because it 'cannot read from the source' or something like that, that is why i believe the file is corrupted, also i have read that people have taken their copies back, have got another one, and still had similar problems, i do not want to face similar problems.

I will now speak to Ubisoft about this, but thanks for your assistance.

I do have another question re your (Steve_v's) reply to my post - why couldn't someone send me a non-corrupt IL2 FB 'data2.cab' file via e-mail? I don't see why they couldn't, and if someone had absolutely no problems with their installation, and there is nothing wrong with the actual file, then i could have a non-corrupt one so my game installs properly, i am really looking forward to actually playing the game i just want a solution as difficult as it seems to be.

Sorry to go on, (and i do have a [Vaugue] sense of humour) LOL &lt;- see!

(I know, I'm not Steve... but...)

    It's huge...

The file will probably not be defective, otherwise just about each and every FB disk would have had that problem...
If your disk is defective, you should have no problem in getting it swapped by a good one.

Have you tried cleaning/polishing the disk?
Or tried it in a different drive/computer?

Let's face it. You are facing similar problems now...

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">i am really looking forward to actually playing the game i just want a solution as difficult as it seems to be. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
It does not seem difficult. As it is not difficult.
Just follow the steps suggested by Steve... it's easy!

    Good Luck!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

    Well,

you know, i have reviewed the situation further and i am doubtful that much else will work so within the next few days i'll be returning it to Amazon and get a (hopefully) working replacement - if that doesn't work - i'll seek some more help and maybe seek anger management and help from a physiciatrist too.

I tried out a TurtleBeach Montego DDL card and will stick with my Creative X-Fi even though the X-Fi doesn't provide DDL support.

    The X-Fi just sounds better.

But I can't seem to get rid of all traces of the Turtle Beach drivers.

I don't want to reinstall XP just to clean it out. How do I get them out? I have tried multiple time to remove them with the "Add/Remove programs" but it is still there.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

One of the best driver cleaners around is Driver Cleaner Pro which you can get here:

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Driver-...r-Professional.shtml

It is free, easy to use and I have checked it and it has a cleaner for Turtle Beach Drivers. I know my m8 Quazi also uses it.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
