    My Kong seems very unresponsive at the end of the game, when's on top of the ESB and battling the Bi-Planes. Is this normal? Sometimes he just hangs there despite my constant pushing of the buttons. What's supposed to happen at this stage?

    That's the problem, Kong doesn't always respond, he just hangs there. I hit the buttons and nothing happens. Then, all of a sudden he'll respond again. I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to be or if there's a problem with my game.

    Clean the CD.

    I was having the same problem, and it was like it wasn't moving to the end cutscene when it was supposed to.

    I turned of my Game Cube, cleaned the CD, restarted, played the ESB battle, and it worked.
