Thread: Ideas for SvM maps... | Forums

    I'm making this thread because it seems like alot of the maps in the new game are looking alot like Warehouse. Perhaps Ubi will take some of the ideas for maps from here and give us some downloadable content so we won't get bored playing in these Warehouse look-a-likes. Post any and all ideas you have on places you would like to see as a map in SvM and give a brief description of the rooms and whatnot...

    School - It could be a college or highschool, doesn't really matter. All the hallways would be cool because there would be lockers to hide behind. You could have rooms like the Gymnasium, Biology Lab, Rotunda (a round room in the center of the building connecting all of the hallways), Cafeteria, and Stage (Drama dept). I think a school would be a refreshing idea if done right.

    Airport - An airport that is empty and silent would be cool. The metal detectors could go off if a spy walked through them unless he hacks into the mainframe and disables them. You could have rooms like the Lobby with open but dark spaces, Luggage would basically be a room with a bunch of hiding spots for the spies, Parking Garage is pretty self explanitory, Control Tower which would also make a nice sniping spot for spies. It would look cool to have those really huge glass windows with light shining in to give shadows and stuff in the Lobby area.

    Supermarket - It could either be a food store or just your run of the mill Wal-Mart style place. It would have alot of isles for the spies to take cover in, a stocking room with lots of boxes and equipment, a sports and outdoors section, and even an electronics section. Who hasn't wanted to creep around in a closed Supermarket before? That would be sweet!

    You know, the idea of an airport (similar to the LAX level at the end of SC:PT) has been mentioned many times before and it seems to me that this would be the perfect setting for an SvM map.

    The large windows to the outside (think warehouse windows in SC:PT) the control tower that could only be reached by elevator (think Mercenary start point with communication equipment / camera network / real time map updates like in Rivermall) and the dark luggage room, perfect for those close encounters... who knows, maybe the luggage could even be moved?

    The possibilities with a map such as this are nearly limitless, and I would urge the developers to give this scenario further consideration.

    P.S. I also like the idea of a janitor's closet and cart... maybe the Mercenaries could ride around in it as a form of fast travel?

    I had the same image in my head about the windows for the airport, they would be like warehouse's windows in most aspects. But the idea about having mercs riding around in carts would just be too hilarious. Think about sitting in a dark corner and seeing a merc in a cart go zooming by, "here comes the merc-mobile!".

    I like the idea of School, but only if it was a campus, because there would be a wide open grassy area where you can go from building to building.

    I think an oil rig map would be awesome. Plenty of ledge grab / Co-Op move / zipline oppertunities for Spy, and outdoor sniping chances for Merc.

    Airport would most defenitely be awesome, the metal detector idea would be leet.

    How about a bridge, a la America's Army? Plenty of ledges for spies to hang off of, plus a lower metal walkway just like the Half-Life 2 bridge.

    On the same note, you could do a radio telescope like the one in Goldeneye. That would make sense, since most spy missions involve stopping some kind of hacking.. the key difference being you would be blowing up the array instead of hacking into it (Although you could hack into it to rotate it for access to previously closed walkways and such.)

    i got one but would never happen,a neighborhood,it could plently of houses to sneak in ad climb and stuff.Certain houses could have objectives in the houses.there could be multiple ways into houses like attics,doors,and sewers.it would be cool hiding in the houses and sewers and stuff but wont happen

    Yeah, a small town would be cool.

    I hate to continue being derivative, but the villia from the Hitman 2 demo would be simply boss. Plenty of walls for spies to boost over, balconies to hang off of, and a lot of rooms for spies to guard.
