Thread: Crap...another crash...How do I change... | Forums

How do I change the screenshot key from control F11 to the standard print screen? Anothing is more maddening that fallowing a us task force for an hr of real time, trying to stay with them, downing a zero during an airstrike, watching a friendly T3 go under and then, attempting to take a screenshot of a spiraling zero only to realise an instant after the game freezes you **** shift F11 instead of control. There needs to be much better crash protection against accedental key hits and combos.. I need to change this to a one button deal.

One thing I did notice is those destroyers can't hit the broadside of a barn. Aside form that zero, they haven't managed to shoot squad despite a TON of targets. I wanna see the fleet hit a line of sampans...that ought to be funny

Download FRAPS(freeware version or Payware(More options)), you can set the key to whatever, and have the screenshots sent to any folder you want. I have the payware version, and I can make in-game videos, and choose which format I want the screenshots(bmp, jpg, png, or tga), so I created 2 folders(Fraps Screenies and Fraps Videos).

I'm not sure there is a command in the Commands.cfg file for screenshots.

You can use these tools to change your shortcut keys :
SetKeys1_3.zip or SH3KeyChecker.zip . They were designed for SH3, so you need to rename Commands.cfg to Commands_en.cfg, then change it back to Commands.cfg after you are done. Setkeys is really easy and faster that doing it manually. It works for SH4 because I used it(It's how I figured out I needed to rename the file first). KeyChecker is for doing it manually, and it gives you the key maps for any key.

You can also use FS_AutoStart_v1.1_Build_11.zip to shut down running background programs, that will help out if you use FRAPS. If you only plan on using FRAPS for screenshots only, you wont need FS Autostart because FRAPS only uses 6,676 K while idle. You can't tell the difference of whether FRAP is running or not, fps stays the same. If you use it for making ingame movies, that's a different story once you press the record key.
