Is ignorance to blame? | Forums

I play a lot of lock on in MP Coop and have to say that I have never really had any problems with the game. Any probs I've had have been remedied by changing some settings (for the X45 for instance). I have a compaq evo p4 2.0 Ghz, Win2k Svspk4, 1Gb Ram and an ATI 9500 pro 128mb. I do get strange things happening - for instance I'm flying on the high detail setting and getting above 15 fps which for me is fine. At some point that'll change and I'll have to go back to low but I can live with that because for me the sim works.

Now that I've had the game for a while and made a few missions I know the bugs and how to get around them.

Then I come here and still see people complaining that their system isn't working, sometimes they have a better spec than I do.

So now I'm wondering if these people who have these problems know anything about computers? I work in IT, in support so I'm fortunate enough to have a clue but if people have 20 tasks running in the background a few viruses and some spyware, how is that the software's fault?

Now I'm not saying that this is the case but I fly with 20 other guys and the most problems they have is using the weapons effectively. Out of 20 people one of those seems to get a fair few problems one day, but none the next. So we have a 95% problem free user base.

I know we only play online but even the guys who play the SP missions haven't reported and major probs.

So - is it None IT savvy people who are getting the problems because over at TG it's pretty smooth.

So before posting here perhaps users who have probs should make sure their system is clean. This isn't a message to those people who know, it's for those that don't. This isn't intended to offend anyone but it is certainly worth considering and may help.
