    Ok, point.

But W T F were they vaulting over? CAN the the Ghosts vault over things?

And I don't know about YOU, but when I jump over something I am more worried about landing on my feet (not falling on my face) than pointing my weapon some odd direction.

I can see them taking their non-trigger hands off their weapons to jump, to wave civilians out of the way, whatever. I can see them holding the weapon upright. I wouldn't do it myself, too much chance of losing control. But again, this isn't about what I think. I was just a potential customer. This is about what Ubi wants.

But the run animation STILL looks odd. Both the regular and the cover to cover. It doesn't look like any kind of soldiers I have ever seen running.

And NO, I do NOT say I have seen EVERY SINGLE type of soldier on the planet. I HAVE seen a bunch of different kinds and NONE of them ran like that. Maybe the cloak and stuff makes them run like they are in a video game?

    @Kalenath

I also understand the potential risks of the maneuver..but it is used when the soldier needs to get from point A to B in a hurry, especially in an urban environment. There are several videos on youtube with soldiers running like that. You'll also notice that when the Ghosts start jogging they bring the weapon down into the usual ready stance.
And yes you can vault. Check out the MP vids.

Anyway, I'm just saying that the goof run might just be authentic.

I showed that sprint clip to my supervisor, a former colour sergeant in the Royal Marines commandos. his answer?
"If the drill instructor saw do you that in training he'd knock you up and down the drill square harder than a yank drill sergeant could scream at you for such shoody gun discipline. the only time a rifle should be aimed in the air one handed is if its being reloaded and that's only if its the most comfortable way for you"

it makes the player look 'macho' and 'cool' but in reality makes the 'elite' soldiers ghost recon portrays look very unprofessional and sloppy

Could very well be the case. But I'll stick with the argument...just cause it looks goofy and unconventional doesn't mean it's wrong. It'll be best if one of the devs answers this...regarding the input of SF advisors on movement.

They have better things to do than answer us, you know that. Besides, it's such as small detail, no one is going to notice.

Of course ANYONE who has had ANY exposure to real soldiers is going to likely go 'W T F?' but the game isn't peddled to people like that.

It's funny, in a sad way. Ghost Recon all the way from OGR to GRAW and GRAW 2 WAS popular with a lot of former military personnel I know, from several different nations and many different specialties from medics to armor to infantry.

Their reaction to Ghost Recon Future Soldier has been almost unanimous. I can't write the ACTUAL response without getting a warning or banned, but I can summarize.

"W T F are they smoking? That looks about as 'soldierly' as the movie 'Hot Shots Part Deux' does."

Yeah this isn't a small detail. I mean it is an animation we have to see every time. I know they have a mo-cap studio at ubi, i've seen the dev diary, they should use it.

I'm no military guy but, it doesn't make sense running like that when the map they were on had many corners. Seems like you would need to have your gun ready to shoot not in the air shooting to the sky.
