TrackIR order go lost? Garghhhh. More suckage.
As for FSX, the Wimpy certainly looks good in all its Barnes-Wallis geodesic-ness. Would be nice to see a flyable one in CloD (then again, there are lots of things I'd like to see in CloD - best not to go there).
When you do finally get TrackIR working, I'd recommend just plonking yourself in a familiar cockpit and flying around for an hour or two to get used to it before trying it out in a dogfight. You'll find you need different profiles for different sims, but I didn't have too much trouble coming up with reasonable ones for RoF, CloD, and 'classic' IL-2 - presumably FSX will be simple too - I must get that running again myself, if only to have the occasional potter around in the Grumman Goose (insert usual rude words about Grumman here...). It has some rather weird ground-handling characteristics, but otherwise struck me as just the sort of plane I'd like to own in real life - though come to think of it, the authorities might take a dim view of me plonking it down onto the Thames just downstream of Kingston bridge, to visit the riverside pub. Hell, they objected when Tom Sopwith tried out his Tabloid floatplane in the same place some years back, and he was one of KIngston's leading employers.
And on the subject of Sopwiths, Tabloids, and Kingston, some here may not have seen the pictures I posted on the RoF forum of a replica Camel, and a replica Tabloid, both visiting their hometown. Pics here http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewto...gston&start=28, but meanwhile, this is what a Tabloid looks like naked:
Barnes Wallis would be jealous. Who needs geodisics, when you can build lighter still with a few bits of wood, some wire, and a whole lot of added nothingness.![]()
Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion, Reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human existence. William Blake
'Allo John, got a new Wimpy?
Comes in Coastal Command flavour, too...
Thanks for the advice, Mr West. Not long now.
Tabloid for RoF, I say!![]()

So, my lovelies, with RoF tweaked and waiting for Postie to come a' knockin, I've been hanging out with an old flame. It's time for the star of my little show...
...isn't she lovely?

Oh, go on then - just a few more...

@Low-Flyer; 'ave yougotityet, etc, etc. #2. Also, has Seb Coe been round to white wash your windows to stop you watching any lycra-clad young sailing lovelies for free and finally, 'ave they installed a couple of Exocets on your roof yet?
1) No.
2) I get paid to look after them. It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it. And no - I don't work for G4S.My favourite 'Lympic lovelies are all involved with the paralympics sailing teams.
3) There's a noticeable increase in heavy 'copter traffic and I see policemen with machine guns every day (and Royal Marines - at least they look like they know what end of the gun to hold).![]()
