Ventured onto Sydicate today. Apologies ArthurSmedley for ruining your sightseeing!! I don't normally shoot that well!

Here's a few pics of the rest of the flight. After fleeing the scene, I found myself trailed by a prowling DVa. He was still some distance below and behind. After a time he seemed to loose me as I went through cloud.

I doubled back and came around behind. Aha! There he is...

    Pop, whoosh!

Something funny was going on, with the fellow flying erratically and popping off flares all over the place. I thought maybe he was wounded, so I backed off.

Poor chap was turning circles like crazy and loosing height all the time. He must have lost sight of me and was feeling a bit spooked. I circled above and watched.

By watching the track later, I could see the moment when he spotted me again and decided to get out of there.

Split S and home for sauerkraut...

    A bit low for though...

    Oh dear! Much too low

Lol, come on Feathered, lets see the full horror! I stopped recording whole missions when I realised how much HD space they eat up. Makes wonderful screenies though.

What server do the guys here mainly use?
I thought I might venture on and provide you all with another target, as my shooting skills in this sim seem to be poor to say the least. (really cr*p I must admit, even when when i can finally track other planes).

I've been flying on Les Hellequinns, The Syndicate and Oceanic servers. These seem to be the most populated servers in the GMT zone. They're full switch-as in no externals-but due to the speed these things move at not too much of a problem. Oceanic would probably be most populated for you C_G on a normal weekday evening. Very good fun. I think the New Wings servers do well too and have externals on. Shooting skills (or lack of them) are not too much of a problem as the best way to get results is to get in as close as possible and let them have it.
    Good luck!

In truth, I didn't begin recording until after our meeting. Here's what happened after the flare guy hit the dirt though.

I climbed out and headed back across to friendly territory. Spotted a Pfalz down below that was putting paid to an observation balloon. Feeling somewhat emboldened by this stage, I dived to intercept.

Got in some good hits, but in my eagerness forgot to ensure both guns were ****ed. Only the right hand vickers was working. They say you can judge a persons individual skill in the first few seconds of a dogfight. Quite possibly, as I could tell immediately that this fellow was way better than me. I don't really have the killer instinct, and will formate on an enemy just as soon as shoot. This guy was very agressive though and was definitely out for blood. I noticed he had one missing wheel already. Like an old wound.

This shot was pretty amazing. I'd fallen into a spin and was struggling to regain control. Poppa Wheelie was at the top of his zoom and beginning to slide back down by the tail (notice his engine smoke, ahead of his prop).

For a couple of seconds we were falling together really close, before pulling out back to back and whirling about to face one another again. I was definitely not in the same class and began to concentrate more on getting away than trying to push for any advantage.

Poppa Wheelie was pulling out all stops to finish me off. He had to make it sanppy though, because help was on its way.

Cavalry arrived in the shape of two more Camels. Poppa dodged them and made several more passes at me.

Another spin. This one was a godsend.

    The end...

Even as he plunged to the deck, Poppa Wheelie stared daggers at me.

Next, my triumphant rtb (well, almost).

Found this on Reddit today. For some reason this image really speaks to me. It reminds me of the part in Moby D!ck when the preacher uses the form of a boat for his pulpit.

    Some magnificent screenies there, Feathered.

'Moby ****' is just what I thought when I saw that pic, Luno.

Busy Skyrimming at the mo', but fear not! I'll be back in the virtual skies soon.

In other news, I just saw "Hell's Angels". The plot is cliche, and the acting isn't amazing, but those flying scenes!! $6 well spent!

Thanks Luno for the idea to view it,
you're right pretty amazing inflight scenes especially considering the cameras in 1930 (when it was filmed) were alot bulkier than the ones currently used. Although the shots of the planes fuselages, when hit, shows that the bullet hole spacing looks very, very close and hence unrealistic. Still all in all a great watch.
Piqued my interest in older movies- must check video store for the Blue Max and any other similar stories
