Thread: Splinter Cell Match Now Online! | Forums

  1. #1
I woke up this morning, got my coffee, turned on Sportscenter, and logged on to my computer to check my email and began to laugh. In my inbox I had an email from Ubisoft stating that Splinter Cell Match is now online.

Are you #$#%$ kidding me! Ubi you really dropped the ball on this one. If you really wanted people to use the match service it should of been ready at launch. If you are still wasting resources to finish this game even though it has already hit the bargin bin you are seriously mistaken. Stop wasting your money and time trying to save this game. Divert all of your resources to Ghost Recon.

I can't believe how unprepared and unfinished this product is. How did it pass certification?
How can a game pass certification with achievements that can't be received. How can you spend resources on a match making service for a game with subpar multiplayer and not have this said service ready for the launch of the game. I am laughing because I have already traded this bad quality game in. It is in the bargin bin at my local Gamestop along with many others. The game is so bad I didn't even keep it for the Ghost Recon beta. I will truly not buy any of your games on day one ever again. I will read reviews for a month and check the forums as to make an intelligent and unbiased opinion of the game. The Game Informer 9.5 rating for this game is a complete Joke.

It's not just ubi though. IW did it with MW2, Epic did it with Gears 2. And nothing is going to change unless the gamers make a stand... and we won't.

I agree it would have been better they made the website before the release of the game, now it looks they are desperate and are trying to come up with solutions to keep people playing.

In the main menu you also see the line "Tired of playing with strangers?" multiplayer is usually playing with strangers and they make it sound like all strangers are 'noobs' who don't know how to play and therefor you need to find your perfect match of the same age so you are sure of playing with mature patient players.

Actually the perfect match would be a player who knows what this game is all about and finding such veterans would require a website like this one.

exactly.. I am to the point where gamefly is a necessity for any gamer. Not using gamefly or some other renting service is literally killing the game industry. I simply don't understand people who run out and buy games without trying them properly first. It just promotes bad game developers, no wonnder they all hate rental servcies, they serve as quality control. Something that is desperately needed.

If you don't have gamefly or another service, do the rest of the gamers a favor a suscribe to one.

You never wondered why a company that has so many studio's under them, so many sound effects, models (of building, weapons, characters), animations and other resources that they ever made or bought and can use them again which basically means shorter development time still has trouble finishing something in time and have it tested.

For example I noticed few models in SCC that I have seen in R6 Vegas, you actually see the points you attach your rappel equipment at in one of them. It's strange because it was inside a building and rappelling would make no sense there and Sam can't even do that.

I don't mind them doing it but basically you end up with more time during development to develop a better story around it or test the game properly, or make a website for people to find their match.

I totally agree with the Gamefly comment but I have a problem with Gamefly. I have tried it now twice in the past 3 years only to turn it off after only a few months. The reason is you can never get new games. Not even if the games are 3 - 4 months old. I have never had any luck with Gamefly. Couple that problem with the price point that is double that of Netflix and you see the problem. Gamefly does have an opportunity to really take a good chunk of the rental business. They just need to improve their service to achieve greatness. Lowering the price point and buying more inventory for their various shipping centers would go a long way. Maybe some of you have had a better experience with them, but mine has always been disappointing.
