how to load the external torpedoes? | Forums

I noticed I have a 1 aft and 1 forward torpedo and its the external one.... how do i get that one so the guys load it up? i assume i have to be surfaced which i am, but they're not loading it

nvm... just had the crew chill ther and put it on high time comp, and when i looked it was loaded... guess just takes a bit

1. You have to have crew in the Forward or Aft torpedo room to load it.

2. Go to the Weapons Management screen and use your mouse to drag the external torp to a free internal space (not a tube).
If all other tubes are loaded, then the external torp should have a timer now running down. The crew loads empty tubes first then moves the external stores to inside the boat.

here some other help which is majorlly important that the manual writers should have specified you must have Rig for silent running OFF make sure its off the Z key you may have to hit it twice to make sure its off you wont see the slashed our icon thing at top of text messaging when it is OFF plus they will give you a text saing its off.


Ok number two you must be at the surface AND, AND, you must be in calm seas... This for the most part is a mystery .. but it seems if your crew can man the aa or deck gun then they can also fool with the outside torps.

Ok so surface press F7 double click on deck gun or AA gun .. you may not have deck gun and see if your crew mans them ok if they do AND if Rig for Silent running is off you are on right track to load outside torps.

Now next make sure you got crewmen in the right torp department meaning .. press the F7 key make sure your there at crew management ok now double click on "bow Torpedo" words or "stern torpedo" words this places crew .. enough of them into those areas to load the outside torp to either the front or back of boat. ad a few extra dudes to be sure now press the I key making sure AutoLoading is checked .. top left or window there .. now zoom up time you can jump back to the I key area and should see a tube filled and it showing how many minuetes left place mouse cursor over tube that is read with a torp in it. If auto loading is off or maybe even dependent on your realism seetings you may need to place a torp in there but main thing is ..

At Surface .. calm waters .. verify by crew able to man aa gun or deck gun

And enough fresh crew in either front or back torpedo room depends on where outside torp is located ..

This is another thing the manual writers and the supervisors who were tasked with overall managment of production should have make sure was explained properly DAILY peeps in here ask how to get outside torps loaded why do we have to spend time in Boards ... rather than playing the game ........ hoping to get an answer that could have been explained in the manual???

And they want us to pay for this game too.

I have been able to load external torpedoes even in a storm. But use my deck gun you must be joking! Even when the sea seems fairly calm. If I could shoot my crew for refusing a direct order I would. Obviously one of the bugs that need fixing

Today I did I the **** I said to do but it still wouldnt load until I went to the weapons view .. I key and then unchecked the auto load area top left then tried to place torps from outside to the tube then zoomed up time then rechecked it and it was loading ... got the time to load **** ya get when put mouse coursor over the torpies ..
