Tom Clancy games used to boast realism and having to be tactical in gameplay, but recently Ubi has been taking this away with Rainbow Six and now this game. I'm very disappointed... </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yes, you should be familiar. You've played Vegas after all.

And... Another thing. Why did I just have a fellow pilot say "I haven't been in a fight like this since the gulf war!" Uhm, there were no aerial battles in the gulf war. Sadam's air force was too scared to even take off. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

There were some aerial battles in the Gulf War </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Correction: 3 or 4 Iraqis got off the ground and were promptly shot down. A battle implies TWO sides putting up a fight.

I was hoping to like this game, but everything about it has turned me off since day one, from the negative g push over in the first trailer to the goofy name. I have tried the demo since and might give it another go, but I feel like the original poster based on what I've seen, read, and been able to play.

I actually liked AC6 quite a bit, but for that game, you can forgive a lot of the goofiness based on it's anime style. Plus it was a fictious world. With a Tom Clancy game you once expected a level of seriousness and believeablity to it, grounded in current events. Now, it's gone off the deep end war and too far into the future for me. The Graw games are pushing it enough, but now it's borderline absurd.

Definitely was not expecting a sim, but hoping for a little less cheese I guess. If people enjoy it, that's fine, but I do feel like the TC name has been going down and down. Doesn't necessarily mean a particular game is bad, just not fitting of the name in my opinion.

Well since this is in the Endwar universe....

In Endwar there was a war between Saudi Arabia and Iran in the 2010's, resulting in a nuclear exchange

Perhaps this is what is being mentioned?

I highly doubt that anyone with half a brain could miss an obvious detail like that </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

    Ah, an optimist! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

So? Is there a problem with that? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I was just teasing, but in truth, well, kinda. In a HAWX context, either optimism OR pessimism isn't all that great. Ironically, almost, the best approach would be a realist's one. What CAN we realistically expect the developers to do? We can hope, but do we necessarily believe that x will happen? Don't know. Since it could go either way, I have no expectations about the future. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I know we have had differences but take this as a compliment, have you ever studied Philosophy? Its like every post is a philosophical lecture by Socrates himself?
I do reckon you do look a lttle too far into things mate and you keep having to explain yourself. No matter how much you try, people will still putting the same threads and posts up no matter what you or I say. No one uses searches in Forums so give the others on here a break man.
We have seen your own threads where you have described in very great detail your thoughts which is commendable and people have responded well, but i ask you please stop being so uptight and lighten up and let others get their say in without you having to put it down straight away.

    I tell you this respectfully.

Really? I always thought of Adnihilis as having more of an Aristotle feel. You know, with trying to put things in their place and not getting too stuck on the metaphysical.

what is your opinion on assist off mode? (cam wise?) </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I think it's horrible. I can never tell which way my plane is turning, whether it's upside down or rightside up. I personally can't do anything in that mode, and the plane is way too loose in my opinion. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

First of all if u cant tell where ur plane is whose faults that YOURS its called assistance off for a reason its only for good pilots. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I had the same issue, the camera angle is a bit of a strain, in my opinion.

The problem is that nobody can tell which way the plane is facing. It's not a challenge anymore, but luck.

    1991 there wer dogfights
Also its called THRUST VECTORING </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Little to no dogfights during the first gulf war. USAF had control of the airspace shortly after daybreak the day after F117a's bombed the city. So the fact that he said "I haven't seen this much (suggesting a lot) action since the gulf war." Is a false statement to make. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
There was an episode of Dogfights on it
Not as much as WWII or Vietnam
    But definitly some
And if it was the only war he fought in then yeah most action since

The people complaining about the game and how realistic it is and how it compares to the likes of Ace Combat and all that let me ask you......how many real life flights have you been on in the military?

I'm in the Air Force and my fellow pilots here ALL think it's a great combat sim. So, if pilots in the real military think it's mint then it must be pretty good.

Tom Clancy must be pretty jazzed about it since he put his name on it.
