Bullet penetration in this game is a joke. Why cant my assault rifle soot through walls in Villa or my bullets graze a corner killing a player behind cover at the edge of a wall.

The guns in game don't work how they actually work in real life. The guns in the game work the way people that have never held a gun THINK they work.

Or (and this is just a thought) they work so that the gameplay doesn't punish you for taking cover.

Actually it's been said by one of the devs. They had a system where the game was super realistic taking into account if the bullet passes through a leaf, and stuff like that.

Then they adjusted for game balance, and then finally they made the guns work the way people THINK they do. That's why you've got shotguns firing buckshot through walls, and other messed up stats.

[cue someone posting the actual quote because I can't find it. ]

I would like to see them actually adjust the game mode settings to reflect this:

    How guns actually work
How they would work for balance
How they "Think" they would work.

"Realistic" would take on a whole new meaning.

Despite popular belief .223 rounds cannot penetrate 2 feet of concrete cement. Even a .223 SS109 round with armor piercing abilities using 1 in 7 twist barrel won't penetrate A LOT of the obstructions in the game. Armor Piercing ammo for .223 and 7.62x39mm is RARELY used anyhow even in war because the limitation with piercing objects using those rounds is the limited energy they produce. Very thin armored objects they can move through but not much. Dry wall + 2x4 wood walls, plywood, etc, yes but not excessively stacked. .223 rounds also lose a lot of energy even if they do penetrate it to the point where they do not maintain direction or power.

7.62x51mm (.308 NATO) the round the G3A3K fires can more effectively penetrate objects. It also is more common to see speciality rounds such as armor peircing ammo for the .308 due to the fact it has enough power to be effective when using that round.

People have gotten too used to Call of Duty 4 which has one of the most unrealistic representations of bullet penetration I have ever seen in a first person shooter. In that silly game the only thing you can't shoot through is the Abrams tanks lying around in the fields.

    Really stupid.

I really think they did a fantastic job on some of the objects with bullet penetration (like the Bamboo walls in the Dragon Casino).
I agree with you though in the fact they do need to increase the number of things you can shoot through however they need to make sure they don't get carried away.
