Thread: Deal Breaker on Unit Killing | Forums

  1. #1
Im slightly embarrassed that I have played this game for almost a year now and did not know a KEY piece of information. Actually I was so shocked when I read it I didn't know if it was true or not!! It greatly sways my opinion on unit killing... here is the paragraph containing information ...

To call in new units it costs 1-6 CP (Command Points), Command Points are also used to call in airstrikes, force recon and electronic warfare, the 3 kinds of offmap support. Command Points regenerate at a rate of around 1 per 30 seconds and are also gained for killing enemy units, the player gains a bonus of 4 Command Points for capturing an uplink.

Since I never heard or seen anyone mention that you gain CP for killing units it either not true, a really good secret, or not known.

So im curious who knew this..lol Ive learned from a couple elites that cp flow is extremely important( which is kinda obvious) To me now other than denying an opponent "eyes" I have a great reason to kill ( not noobs)

with a little experimenting it appears your cp bar moves up with a kill. maybe a 1/2 cp.

    Hell yeah,

Didn't know that. Killed alot but i never noticed it. I guess i was too busy killing everything!

We kill everything now because we have a reason. If its a strategical reason its ok.

No surrender, only killing (even friends) because i need CP.

LMAO, im gonna make sure its true first , but if it is then it will relieve a lot of tension from killing friends. No more flying gunships up my A$$ for eyes anymore in clean games lol...

I dont think that is the case. If that was so, then Ossi would always have a lot of cp. I noticed the more units you have on the field, your cp generates a little faster but i never noticed a spike when i killed. If that was the case, airstriking downed units would give you close to 1 cp when its finished. And i know that doesnt happen. There has been times where i killed 4 or 5 units within 30 seconds and didnt notice a cp increase. It might be something that they wanted to implement, but just didnt get around to it. Or, they may have patched it a while ago just like they patched the euro virocator or anti air guns for russia's tanks.

Im sorry but you definately dont gain CP from killing units because if that were true, people would get a lot of cp in matches and would just airstrike spam a lot.

It is true that your CP generates faster, the more units you have on the field. so micromanaging 12 units would get you more CP in 30 seconds than 6 units.

I agree with jonny, but if you wanna test it out Threat, this is what you should do. You have to fight in TOW because i dont think skirmisch would work. Have an opponent deploy 4 tanks. You deploy 4 gunships. Then bring in a rifleman and upgrade 2 uplinks to airstrike(to get airstrike 2). Wait until you get about 3 cp then move your gunships to the tanks and start defeating them. Make sure the tanks are bunched together. Make sure you defeat the tanks at the same time, then as soon as you get 5 cp, airstrike 2 the defeated tanks. As soon as the airstrike 2 hits them, they are killed and you should get 2 cp immediately if your theory is correct. If not then you know its not true.
