Thread: Possible fix for multiplayer Physics? | Forums

  1. #1
    hey,
Recently,I went through the console variables (which I just noticed how to get to it) in the sand box editor,I scrolled down some then came to 4 console commands named: g_MP_fixed_timestep,es_OnDemandPhysics and e_on_demand_physics,and physics_quality.All having a default value of either 0 or lower then that.Could this be it?

    Answers would be appreciated thanks

you may be on to somthing ... do you have the capacity to run a lan game at your home so you can test this (previios atempts have only worked for the server not the players so try to mod both coppys and see if it works... also i read somewhere that the physics for most objects have a randome factor in them that would not bode well for multie player if the info isent being sent over the net for object placement)

Thanks for replying to my thread, it might very well be related.

But where would I go and look for these Console Commands?

When you are in your map, double click the console information(the information that shows map errors and stuff with the little box where you can type commands in)below. Then you should get a list of commands for your map.Im in school right now so I cant describe it well.Ill try it agian as soon as I get home.

No need... I found it already

Now I could try and tweak, but I don't have a second computer to test multiplayer anymore...

Next week, there will be some guys here to try and play my new map (amongst other maps), so I'll finish it for as far as I can now, and make a stairwell just in case. If it don't work, mwah, too bad

physics were turned off for internet multiplayer due to the huge bandwidth it takes up... why do you want to enable it?
