Thread: DPL List (released) | Forums

  1. #1
Hello all you Driver fans and players alike. Since most of you are all from the Atari forums and now posting about Driver, Stuntman: Ignition and even GTA IV here in the Ubisoft forums, I might as well post the DPL (Driver: Parallel Lines) List here and let you all know that the DPL List is finally available to the public. It's been a long and rough ride, but Madness (new site creator) has released the DPL List!

I am proudly to finally present you...

    The DPL list: <A HREF="http://www.dpl-list.drivermadness.net%3CBR%3E" TARGET=_blank>www.dpl-list.drivermadness.net
    </A>
    All your DPL needs!

    Enjoy!

In case of you who don't know what the DPL List is... It is a site full of Driver: Parallel Lines information. Driver: Parellel Lines is the latest Driver game made by Reflections and published by Atari now available on the PS2 and Xbox. The site is kind of like a FAQ, but much bigger and easier to navigate around, instead of scrolling down a long page with only 1 to 3 quarters of useful information. This idea was found by me originally on freewebs as I created the first DPL List website, which kind of saved the DPL List from possibly becoming a complete waste of time. It held plenty of information by far and many users found it useful. But it did not hold all of the required information as I anticipated. Now the new website created by Madness in his effort to completing it after I had lost interest, many Driver players will be able to view the DPL List and dig into some of the best information you can find and then some.

Though the new DPL List still isn't 100% finished, I had just sent Madness the last batch of information (hopefully it's the last) and he should have it all in some time eventually. Please check it out and see what you think of it! Be sure to check back for updates.

Now the site may be pretty slow for some of you, if not all of you, but Madness is working on making it as fast as possible. Just note that it use to be a whole lot worse.

    Regarding,
    Paul.

Just to follow up and continue on some of the information "actiondreamer" gave you here is some more information and a few more follow ups.

    Console Releases
The DPL-List was originally designed for the PS2 and XBOX however the website will by fully optimized to support the PC and new Nintendo Wii Releases. So the site does get old for about another year and still I'm pretty sure Driver: Parallel Lines will get into many budget releases.

    Slow Page loads
This was caused by the menu system which has more than 900 links in it, loading 900 menu items is a big job for every page load so I've optimized it so it'll only have to load once every 12 hours. Meaning that the menu system is cached.

The menu system still slows everything down a bit however I'm working on fixing that.

When will the DPL-List be finished
I'm hoping it will be finished within the first 2 months of the PC Release, as I've decided to use the PC release for all the screenshots as they are easier to take and hold a lot more quality.

Also if you have questions or if you have any suggestions, you may post them here.

    Regards,

There is a new link to the dpl-list ever since there was a big server move so if you wish to visit the dpl-list you'll have to use the follow link

    www.dpl-list.drivermadness.net

There will be a major upgrade to the dpl-list soon and when the pc version is released after I've focused on the modding sector I'll make sure the dpl-list gets finished.
