hi i bought Assassins creed 1 this morning it came with one disk i installed it but when i click play game it says "please insert correct disk then click ok" but it only came with one disk so im really confused and just want to play the game.

hi im not a computer sawy either but i read somwher you could try downloading no cd patch or try what this guy sais:

Now, right-click on the launch icon you just created for your desktop and use the OS compatibility feature. Try using the XP SP2 option first before you experiment with the others. i have a problem too when i reach jerusalem a pop up shows up assassins creed has stopped working windows is checking for a solution online i heard frome someplace that since i have windows 7 i should change my comepatiblity to windows xp do u think that would work

Try turning off your internet. It sounds super crazy that it's that simple but it worked for me.

Hmmm..... Ok, You can try reinstalling the FULL game again, on some other Hard drive location/folder, if this problem persists. (Don't use the same Windows path/folder. Give the installer a different/new path). Do a FRESH install of the game now, and after installing try using the DEFAULT in-game Video settings, IF you can reach the Main MENU.

Do you have the Retail copy, or you downloaded this game from STEAM, D2D etc. ? Have you tried Launching the game under 'Windows XP SP3 Compatibility Mode ' ? If you can somehow manage to play AC2, then this game should also run on your Graphics processor.

On a side note, Update/install the DirectX 9 files from here, if needed:
