Thread: easier said than done?(regarding tunnels) | Forums

now i must say,... ive been makeing maps for FCI ever since it came out, and have gotten quite used to using the good ole closed containers and makeshift roofs to create a tunnel. however with the release of FCIE i have heard that they included in the new brush set a tunnel type brush, with that said i was wondering how easy it is to make a tunnel using the brush. is it difficult and not worth while?, any feedback from someone who has experienced this first hand would be much apreciated

Its very simple and straight forward. The tunnels are already made for you. You just place them wherver you want and connect em. Theres different ones like ntersectons, turns stright-a-ways, ect. more. There you have it. The only thing I hate is that you could only put em on certain templates.

I wish they made tunnel brushs overlap the ground. So we could actually make caves and stuff like that rather then puting useless buildings on top of the tunnels which makes it look stupid. I dislike the current tunnels but I doubt anything will be changed.

useless buildings? why would you have to put buildings on top of the tunnels?

Why stick a building on top of the tunnels? Im talking about if your trying to make say an udnerground cave. I might want to have a damn cave heading 500 feet below the levels surface level. However so there ain't a big *** hole in the ground I need to put brushes of some kind over top. Unless I yet again want a giant *** hole for people to fall in. How about making a tunnel in a cliff? Unless I want the ground above the tunnel to be all gone thus making it again look stupid.

The only thing this brush is really god for is above ground tunnels . Then you can likely run around them and it would again look dumb that a giant tunnel is sticking out of the ground with nothign around it. You just don't see things like that. Im asking tunnels overlap dirt / ground as it would be a more useful brush and would make for better maps and better uses.
