Hello all. I've been through training and loved it. I started the campaighn, and am lost. I was given no briefing, no sense of story, and told to do a patrol mission. Then another, then another, and another. My thought is, get to the zone and patrol it for 24 hours so I can pass the mission. What I don't understand is, am I suppose to engage the enemy on the way? Will I get further instructions after completing these patrols. My confusion is this. The mission says "Patrol" not "patrol and destroy enemies in the sector". I'm just doing what I'm told, and it's getting a little boring.(No confrontation". Am i playing the game correctly,(slow beginning), or am I not playing it right?
Your input is greatly appreciated, as I really want to enjoy this game.

it is war.. and thus, you have to engage the enemy wherever u see them. after you are done with your 24hr patrol, you are also free to go wherever you like, typically grid AM has plenty of action. happpy hunting!

As long as you cruise around for 24hours in your zone, you'll satisfy the requirements. Even if you don't have any torpedos left when you do so.
In fact, if you didn't feel like going to your patrol zone, that's fine too- you just won't get as much reward at the end.

The story so far...
War has broken out on the atlantic, and your the captin of a U-boot envolved in that war.
Its a sim,the story is your own.

That pretty much sums it up.
U-Boats were designed to attack targets of opportunity (i.e. big ships, especially merchant shipping) to cripple the supply lines to Britain.

Welcome to WW1 !

WW1? Did I get the wrong game or something?

Nothing wrong on your part... It's how the campaign works that makes the game look much closer to a WW1 sub simulation
