Hi.
This thread is dedicated to all the issues that will occur with the instalation and running of the 1.2 patch that is due to be out today.
From the start i will remind all of you how to properly download and install the correct patch.
If your game version is 1.1 in the game menu then you can use the autoupdater that can be ran from 1)Start-Programs-Ubi-Heroes Of Might And Magic V - Your Version - Check for updates
2)Homm5_install_dir\bin\UpgradeLauncher.exe

If your game version is 1.0 then you will have to manualy download and install the patch.
How to identify your game version.
Extracted from ubi tech-suport:
"The easiest way to know which version of the game you have, is to check the technical support information listed in the back of the game manual. If the address is a UK address, you have the European version of the game. If the address is a US address, you have the US version of the game." etc.

Another method (in case you lost the manual or this solution doesn't work):
Go to start-run type regedit and press enter.
In that program go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft and there look at your Heroes V key.
It may be one of these.
Heroes of Might and Magic V Collector Edition
Heroes of Might and Magic V (standard).
Heroes of Might and Magic V Limited.
etc.
So check this key and download the apropiate patch.

Any issues related with the fabled "game not installed" will be solved on this thread.
Don't open new threads on this matter as they will be closed.

A small reminder to all. If you in any way modified the basic files of the game. That means H5_Game.exe, the dll's in the din directory, the files in the data dir, or any files the game came d install or the 1.1 patch installed you may have issues while patching.
In the worst case you will have to reinstall the game and delete the homm5 install folder from the hard drive.
Mods should be compatible as they don't modify any of the files i'm refering to.

Well, I did the auto installer thing, and that worked fine. I’m just hopping in here to mention something you probably already know. Once patch 2 is installed the cheat menu doesn’t work anymore. I assume that the code lines have been rewritten. I assume (still have to check) that the way that I got it the work in the first place will work again now. But I just wanted to mention that little detail; After installing the patch, cheat has to be enabled again.

Also to add here. The load/save/wait mod button doesn't work properly in 1.2 and should be removed since Nival already added the load option.
For those of you who used the 1.1 auto-update feature the patch is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\"curent usename"\Local Settings\Temp under the name ubi391.tmp.exe or something. Just order the files by size you will notice it beeing in the bigest.
You can copy it from there for later use.

Did you alter the 1.1 exe in any way?
Try to manualy download this file and install it.
