Anyone know of any novels that are similar to the story told in Assassin's Creed? Not so much the historical aspects, but the conspiratorial side of the story, stuff like what happened to Subject 16 and the stuff in modern day. It was very intriguing to watch, so I want to read some novels that have a similar vibe. Anyone got any suggestions?

OP, one book that rang really, REALLY similar to AC for me was Past-Watch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus by Orson Scott Card (same guy who wrote Ender's Game).

There is still a good chunk of history in the book, but it's also really hooking and has some great conspiracy themes.

The Ways of the Shadow by Brent Weeks

The cover really looks like Altair/Desmond and the story will get you really hooked on.
