Thread: Worthy version for PC | Forums

  1. #1
In the name of Splinter Cell fans and PC Gamers, we demand to Ubi a WORTHY versión of SCCV for PC.

Please, consider the differences between playing on PC and playing on console.

If the main development is the 360 version, something I completely understand, consider this when you port the game to PC:

    - Support for Windows XP and Windows Vista (x32 and x64)
    - Support for multithreading (core AND QUAD core processors)
    - ADAPT the HUD to mouse and Keyboard.
    - Correct support for main gamepads out of the box.
    - Many configuration options (graphics, controls, audio, etc.)
    - FREE online.
    - Proper support for different aspect ratios, 4:3, 5:4, 16:9, 16:10, with aproppiate automatic FOV for each resolution.
    - DX10 compatibility.
    - The same minimum requirements as SCDA.
    - TEST THE GAME BEFORE RELEASE. PLEASE!! NO BUGS!! If it's necessary, colaborate with intel, AMD and NVIDIA and ensure proper hardware compatibility, HDR+AA function and support for multiple AA and AF.

I mean.... I WANT to play SCCV on PC. I've being playing all Splinter Cell series on PC. I like it. Even I have and XBOX360.
And I'm very, very, very dissapointed with the PC version of SCDA.
I DON'T WANT AGAIN SUCH A MISERABLE PORT. Make a decent conversion this time, ok? I pay for this game, so I think I have reasons to ask for it.

If you can't... or you don't want develop a GOOD PC VERSION, don't do it. REALLY. It's better not have a PC version, than have a direct port from console. It's an insult for us, PC Gamers.

    Thanks for reading me.

if they made a decent multiprocessor support you don't have to program it for multiple layouts (dual, quad, octo etc.)

3rd. AFTER SALES PATCHES, that are longer than 1.02.
Really cocked up SCDA with the support helplines of 'close solved'

I have also played the entire SC series on PC and although I like DA the amount of bugs in it I was not a big fan of.

I pretty much agree with all the above. The only thing that I can see that will be different is that you mentioned that the minimum requirements be the same as DA. I think because of the new core gameplay that they might have to change the requirements for the simple fact that the crowd mechanics will use a lot more cpu, graphics and memory resources. The other thing is that you mentioned is not having bugs. Realistically every game will have bugs for some people and not for others. This is just due to the simple fact that their are so many hardware combinations in modern pcs that it would be impossible to test all of them. I agree with the point that the re-occurring bugs should be patched (for example the NVidia - 8800 series and DA were major issues)but somewhere someone will come across an anomaly.

I think by the end of the year DX10 and multi-core cpus should be supported for the simple fact they have been around for a while now. Montreal is doing Convictions and I am sure they wont do a shabby job of the title. If previous experience is anything to go off, I never had any issues with SC or SC:CT but I do expect a couple of bugs here and there for the simple fact that there are alot of new mechanics in modern games.

Which is why I'm planning to buy SCC for X360.
I got a bad vibe with DA so that's the first SC game I ever bought on a console. Plus, when there's two different versions on that platform... I'm glad I did.

But I loved every second of SC, PT and CT. The PC versions were always enjoyable (no offline bugs like in DA) and the increased resolution, along with the mouse/keyboard controls were nice benefits.

There will not be an XP version because they are going to try to have cross platform play between the 360 and PC utilizing the Games for Windows Live system. That's a Vista only system, so that means no XP.
I have the fifth freedom... so watch out, here I come

Yes my friend, we both dissapointed about SC Double Agent. You know Ubisoft Shanghai created
    horrible SC.
What was done by designers SC Double Agent it's horrible.

Day light mission in Mexico Cozumel, i must say horrible level.

I believe Montreal Studio has passion to create real stealth-action game.

I played SC Chaos Theory it's a great game.
