There are some real dogs in that list. Cobain wasn't much of a riffer anyway, more like chords and melodies. Clapton and Metallica have no place in the top ten. And no Keith Richards....
Best G-n-R riff is Mr. Brownstone....I thought everyone knew that.

I don't think there's a song on the entire "Appetite for Destruction" album that doesn't have a great riff.

    +1

Fantastic album, and the only GnR album I can listen to all the way through in one sitting.

But, Led Zep should have been number one. Big surprise there.

Im just happy Guns N Roses beat Nirvana

The only good song on GNR Lies was incredibly racist. Use your Illusion albums were good, but there were a few songs I hated. A few of the slightly more insane ones, Dont Cry and Patience. I do like his ability to capture emotions in the two use your illusion albums, Estranged springs to mind.

Use your Illusion albums were sort of the point that Axl started to become unhinged mentally IMO.

Or at least when it started showing. I think he had been well on the way for some time.

Yeah that said it gave him the ability to write some damn good songs in the later two albums. Reminds me of a few of the Classical/Romantic composers who lost the plot, it made their music even more powerful in some respects.

Dont know wheter to agree on Led Zepplin, definately think they should be at least equals. And yeah Sweet Child o Mine isnt Guns N Roses best Riff

I saw them open for Aerosmith in August 1988. Axel was quite the ******* that night. First song, his mike starts to go out. Instead of playing it off like a pro, he throws the mike stand against the amps, and walks off stage. He came back ten minutes later.
