Thread: cool (and not so cool) things to do in the demo. | Forums

    Cool things:

    1. After the mandatory mark and execute, run full speed at the next merc by the fence and use Sam's sliding move that he does when he goes from a run to a crouch to slide tackle the guy. Then shoot him while he's down.

    2. If you take the window route into the warehouse, climb the pipe and position yourself above where the guard patrols underneath it. Mark the two guards standing together by the pit and the guard across the room by the door to the hallway, throw a sticky camera into the little office with the guard on the computer, and aim your crosshairs at the EMP thing hanging from the ceiling. Wait until all the marks are red and the guy underneath you is in the right spot for a 'death from above'. Then detonate the sticky cam, tap the right trigger twice to shoot down the EMP thing, hit execute to take out the three that are marked, and drop on the last sucker.
(Six guards down before they even know you're there = feeling like a true bad@$$)

    3. After going down into the sewer, the first three guys talking about you can be taken down without a mark and execute. Just stand up in the dark corner next to the guy giving the lecture. Two quick headshots to the idiots standing next to each other and an immediate hand-to-hand takedown of the surprised guy right next to you is proof enough that whenever you can avoid using the mark and execute and still pull off a sweet move it's definitely worth it.

    Not so cool:

    1. If you grab one of the guys out front and throw them (how Sam has the superhuman strength to do this so well, I have no idea) up on the truck expecting their head to very satisfyingly break the windshield, they will instead disappear through the hood. (Serious clipping issue)

    2. The annoying bug where a merc falls but the sound effect for when they hit the ground repeats about twenty times and makes that annoying clicking sound.

Cool: In the first main room of the warehouse you enter; the canopy above acting as a makeshift celling reacts realistically when shot at. Some nice Havok Cloth physics at show

Not so cool : When executing enemies, even if they are hidden behind objects they will still be killed as Sam just shoots through whatever is there. Hopefully such a bug won't be in the final build. I seen it happen in a recent video, which worries me.

I hadn't tried shooting the cloth. Big thanks!

and I'd noticed the marks being red sometimes when they probably shouldn't. Hopefully this is improved by the release, but it may be too late.

Cool: If you get close to terrorists and perform an execute it does a sweet mixture of hand to hand and shooting. Also it's really important you play with all of the equipment, some things can be put to multiple purposes i.e you can use the remote camera to set off the emp rig trap in the main floor of the warehouse, plant and detonate.

Not Cool: Some lights you cannot shoot out and the setup for the demo is clearly to showcase the M&E yawn.

You can set off that chain reaction faster if after you throw the sticky cam into the little room you press down on the D-pad to take your weapon out and aim it at the trap. Then press X & Y to detonate the sticky and after it blows you will already be aiming at the trap so just hit the trigger once to shoot it down. Then hit Y to execute the marks.

You can do this quick enough that it can be done without being detected? I gotta try this myself.

How many fanboys does it take to change a lightbulb? 10. 1 to change the bulb & 9 to complain about how much better the old one was.

Thanks! It makes the move surprisingly quicker.

Yeah. Even on realistic, and it's faster than using the mark and execute to take them out.
