I am very impressed with this game, especially after seeing the long gameplay vid. If you can shed some light on some things such as:
    - 1)ammo. The suppressing squad must put out a lot of rounds. Do they have infinite ammo, will they run out of ammo, or will they scrounge ammo off dead enemy?

    - 2)do you control a tank with the point and click interface, like a squad?

    - 3)are there anti armor weapons like the bazooka in the game.

    - 4)is there am aiming reticle when the weapon is in the ready position, not the iron sight view, like a dot or cross. Sometimes you need to snap off a shot without bringing up the sights.

    - 5)If your original men are killed, who replaces them, more generic soldiers with less skill?

    - 6)Can you take a certain amount of hits before you get killed and does it affect movement or shooting.

It looks like a really authentic and fun tactical game. Definitely a must buy.

    - ammo. The suppressing squad must put out a lot of rounds. Do they have infinite ammo, will they run out of ammo, or will they scrounge ammo off dead enemy?

    >> Good Question, I'll ask.

    - do you control a tank with the point and click interface, like a squad?

    >> Yes.

    - are there anti armor weapons like the bazooka in the game.

    >> Yes.

    - is there am aiming reticle when the weapon is in the ready position, not the iron sight view, like a dot or cross. Sometimes you need to snap off a shot without bringing up the sights.

    >> I haven't seen one, I'll confirm.

    - If your original men are killed, who replaces them, more generic soldiers with less skill?

    >> When they die, they die. They can be wounded and not die though.

    - Can you take a certain amount of hits before you get killed and does it affect movement or shooting.

    >> I'll confirm one way or the other.

It looks like a really authentic and fun tactical game. Definitely a must buy.

    >> Incredibly authentic and more immersive than anything I've played to date.

    7) is there a co-op mode of gameplay?

8)can you explain what the icons on the gameplay screens mean in the screenshot thread?

9)(no clue on this obviously) Can you use gun emplacements? drive vehicles? shoot tank cannons? AT guns?

    10) can you give us somewhat of an idea as to what game is a mixture of? IE: MOH + COD?

11)Is there a quick save feature or will you need to complete the level/pass a checkpoint?

12)Will there be an SDK for the modders? and if so will it be released WITH the game or SHORTLY thereafter?

The game play video looks awesome!!! Nice works. One question though, is it limited to the 7 days fight only? I really want to see the game leads me through Market Garden and Ardennes.

"1)ammo. The suppressing squad must put out a lot of rounds. Do they have infinite ammo, will they run out of ammo, or will they scrounge ammo off dead enemy? "

Ammo is not infinite, if the soldiers had infinite ammo on D Day, they would have infinite ammo in the game, but seeing as how that obviously isn't the case, you'll have a limited ammunitions supply. Smart behavior will win you the game, and your AI is pretty good at using their ammunition as far as I see from the videos. You can pick up ammo from your buddies and dead Germans.

"2)do you control a tank with the point and click interface, like a squad?"

Yep, the tanks are controlled just like squads can, and can be used to bring you in nice and close, like a rolling block of metal for armor

"3)are there anti armor weapons like the bazooka in the game."

Yes there are both German and Allied anti-tank bazookas.

"4)is there am aiming reticle when the weapon is in the ready position, not the iron sight view, like a dot or cross. Sometimes you need to snap off a shot without bringing up the sights."

Don't know about this one... I'm pretty sure there is.

" 5)If your original men are killed, who replaces them, more generic soldiers with less skill?"

Your soldiers are not replaced. They die, they die. The way the game is set up is that you, Baker, pick up people as the game progresses. As you probably already know, many paratroopers were misdropped on D Day, so if you lose a soldier, he will be replaced by another one of your men whose either returning from injury, or found.

"6)Can you take a certain amount of hits before you get killed and does it affect movement or shooting."

Theres no health meter in this game. There are no health packs, etc. Its very untraditional in a sense, but it makes a ton of sense. If you rambo, you will die, period. Go running out in the middle like a superhero will get you "warning" shots of sort, you'll see blood on your screen and you'll be taking damage. Keep up the stupid behavior and you die. BiA will reward you for good, strategic thinking and eat you apart for being an idiot

"7) is there a co-op mode of gameplay?"

Depends on what you define as co-op. If you're talking about single player co-op like Halo, that hasn't been confirmed but "botman" from gearbox has said there won't be. It should be able to be modded into the game, though, because AI has no problems being transfered by the netcode. If its not included in the game, perhaps it will be made available in a patch -- I foresee a "Farcry" situation with co-op.

"8)can you explain what the icons on the gameplay screens mean in the screenshot thread?"

Theres a compass in the left corner, your squads are marked on the compass. Ammo and grenade count indicators are in the left corner. As for the ingame HUD, there are Suppresion Icons above your enemies head's when they are engaged by you or your allies, this indicates how much the enemy is being suppressed by your fire, and whether you should send you fire squad around the flank to finish him off. Thats just about it, this game has a very minimalistic HUD.

"9)(no clue on this obviously) Can you use gun emplacements? drive vehicles? shoot tank cannons? AT guns?"

You can use an MG42(german machine gun) and control tanks. As far as I know, that is all you can do.

"10) can you give us somewhat of an idea as to what game is a mixture of? IE: MOH + COD?"

First Person shooter + Real time strategy + squad based shooter

I like to call it a RTSSBFPS

"11)Is there a quick save feature or will you need to complete the level/pass a checkpoint?"

Not sure on this one, I believe there is no quicksave feature, but I could be wrong.

"12)Will there be an SDK for the modders? and if so will it be released WITH the game or SHORTLY thereafter?"

Randy Pitchford has said there will be a map editor either released with the game, or shortly after the game's release. As for an SDK, no word yet.

"Any possibility of a Mac version?"

Doubt it, Gearbox has no experience with the Mac platform, their work has been done on the PS2, and PC.

"is it limited to the 7 days fight only?"

Yes, 8 days including D Day. I hear it gives you 25+ of gameplay, plus the ability to play missions over again with completely different situations, becuase of BiA's smart AI. Gearbox has a 10 year contract with Ubisoft, not much other info is known but its presumable that there will be many BiA games, whether they remain in the WWII domain is yet to be seen. Market Garden would be hella exciting though.

Hope that helps, if you visit this thread a member of Gearbox's forums has compiled a dev responses thread, its rather old though, and he's working on an updated version.

Nope, not a Gearbox employee, I'm a moderator over at their forums, so I do know a lot about the game, seeing as how I need to read over every thread

    13) Can you explain a little about the multiplayer gametypes that will be for PC?

    14) Will the multiplayer for PC be attractive to clans to start playing competively ?

I've something about Gearbox wanted to do it like, you have 1 squad with you vs 1 other guy and his squad. I thought that was only for the Xbox and not the PC. I really hope they will make proper gametypes like Search & Destroy from cod or like Elimination, just gametypes like that without bots.

I would love to play 5v5 Search & Destroy in BiA that is what im preying for.
