Negative on the rollback for me, 91.47 are the best drivers I've had and need them for the other apps/games as they are most stable with SLI. Also tried game in non SLI but no difference.

Only problem for me atm is the memory leak, everything else OK in Single Player - no probs with load times (around 20-30 secs), audio good, all sweet, but can only just get past cinematics on stonehelm before she hits 99% Ram usage and locks me up. Yet to try Multiplayer though.

I presume that a patch will fix this issue, as rolling back drivers is not an option. Will kick back and wait for the patch I think, please keep us updated on the progress

I tried the 84.21 driver and it did nothing. Actually if anything, the game runs worst than before (I was using 81.xx driver before).

This makes me really mad. I paid $60 for this game and I can't even play it.

Oh, and I have a 6800GT by the way.

I am running a gf 6600 and i to get the crashes with the video, i am running the current drivers and i to agree rolling back drivers is not a solution as it can cause major headaches with other apps. Especialling at the beginning of chapter 1. and whats the deal with the game clock its about 24 hrs ahead of my system clock which also can cause issues

Hey thanks Marco-Arkane this helped me out a lot .

I'm running Dark Messiah on a 7800 GT with the 91.47 drivers, or rather I should say was. I downgraded to 84.21 and now only have very minor stuttering when a new area loads. When I was using the 91.47 drivers the game was unplayable.

Also, I'm not sure it matters, but I have the retail limited edition version (DVD) of the game.

I remember seeing that the 91.31 drivers were unstable, and many people were having problems with the 91.xx drivers.

Most of the latest gaming forums that have games with problems are saying to roll the drivers back to the 84.xx series, and this has helped alot of people.

Personally, I am using the 96.86 drivers from guru3d but I had tried 91.31, 91.47 and I think 84.26 beforehand...they all ran badly.

Yes, this has fixed the 'Internal Driver Error', for my 6800E.

The other problem is crackling sounds and hundreds of echoes which cause FPS to drop to several frames per minute. This usually occurs on load of a Save or when entering an outdoor area with many new sounds. Re-loading the Save a few times generally gets it to settle down, but it is more likely than not to occur at the moment. Sound Blaster X-Fi.

you could all try the NGO drivers aswell, I'm just running through each one now from the 84.56 NGO driver (1.8456) to the latest which I think is 92.xx (1.92xx) something.

Hopefully, I get a performance increase SOON, because using the XFX 84.21 drivers did nothing for me and my XFX geforce 7800GS 256mb agp.

I have to take back what I said above. Things did seem to run fine for a short period of time but I am no longer able to repeat the success I had. I've tried the 84.21 and 84.43 drivers and currently still experience extreme stuttering, making the game impossible to play.

Update: I did find in another thread that there is some bug/issue with the high textures, and setting textures to medium fixes (or rather bypasses) the issue. I've set my textures to medium and the game now plays very well. Of course I'm disappointed at having to lower the texture quality, but I'd sure rather do that than not be able to enjoy the game at all.

Also, since applying the medium textures I have been able to go back to the current driver release 91.47.

    Hi all.

For you, Nvidia 6800 owner (or 6800 Ultra), here is something REALLY helpfull

You might experience crashes, freezes on DM.

Try installing drivers 84.21 (or 84.xx). They seem to work fine :

    - No more memory leaks or huge fps slowdown.

    - The videos playing fine now (But not with drivers 77.72 or 7x.xx - Intro Bink video of the game plays fine, but not the in-game ones).

No problems found with 6600 and 7800 video card with up to date drivers.

We've noticed that drivers 91.43, 91.47 and 93.xx (or more recent drivers) on 6800 cards are creating memory leak in first chapter of the game.

You should unistall those drivers and then install 84.21 (or 84.xx).

I hope that this will help you guys.

Just let me know if something's wrong.

    Cheers

    Marco

Many thanks for this temporary work-around. This works great for me as a temporary solution for Dark Messiah. I can't wait til patch to get everything/every-game back on the same driver.
