    Will FarCry 2 utilise it?

I know the tree's have a DMM sort of technology with them breaking where they are shot.

However what about the buildings or objects?

Do blanks break where they are shot or is it scripted?

I too would like to know a bit more about the level of destruction. It was hard to see in the demo video, but it seemed like pretty much all the wooden structures break. I think it's important that the debris actually looks like it's broken unlike in Crysis how the huts seem to just fall apart in entire panels (walls, roof, etc). I'm pretty sure I saw some splintered timber in the FC2 demo. Although they're most likely pre-defined breakpoints.

I think allowing the level of destruction shown in the upcoming LucasArts games would be too taxing in such huge maps and if possible would require a hefty physics card.

I don't know exactly how many items are DMM, but the nature of it is NOT predefined break points. Good point about Crysis though and just one reason it's perhaps a bit silly that so many use it as the standard of reference for modern shooters regarding physics. They go into a fair amount of detail about many things in FC2 being ignitable and I would imagine most if not all flammable objects are as well DMM. I wouldn't doubt if FC2 compares well with Crysis as far as photorealism too.

Speaking of LA games btw, have you heard that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will not be available on PC? Kind of annoying that LA gave PC such great titles and now that they're making a decent DMM one they choose to cater to consoles only.

Do you know that there aren't predefined break points? I know the trees and probably some other things break pretty much exactly, but I wouldn't expect parts of buildings and other objects to break exactly where they're hit. I think there will be pre-defined break points on objects like these which seems kinda evident from what I could make out from the demo video. Nothing wrong with that though, as long as it's breakable.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will have DMM glass and wood surfaces on structures so I wouldn't necessarily count it out just because Crysis doesn't have it on their buildings.

There's a video interview with one of the devs for SWTFU showing an animation of how their DMM will work. I saw it on Gamespot I think. It's due out the same time FC2 is btw but as I said, no PC version.

Don't expect much from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, they have the tech however its seriously CPU intesive and may prove to tricky to impliment into teh entire world.

As for FarCry 2 i guess they would have mentioned it if they did put it in ...

I didn't sat they were implementing it in the entire world. The demo shows one small shack size building breaking.
