Same song, fourth verse.

Critical Error has come up with every patch. I have played only twice, then problem pops up.

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 1835 MHz with 1023MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 (4523)

General protection fault!

History: UModel::LineCheck <- CheckWithLevel <- ULevel::MultiLineCheck <- ULevel::SingleLineCheck <- AActor::findBase <- ULevel::SpawnActor <- [R6PlanningPawn) <- UObject: rocessEvent <- [R6StoryModeGame Oil_Refinery.R6StoryModeGame0, Function R6Game.R6GameInfo.Login) <- ULevel::SpawnPlayActor <- MatchViewportsToActors <- [Oil_Refinery) <- ClientInit <- UGameEngine::LoadMap <- LocalMapURL <- UGameEngine::Browse <- ClientTravel <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop

Thanks for any input...

Try the high priority tweak at http://ravenshieldmod.com
and mess with lowering some of you settings. Worked for me anyway.

Remember this rule. . .

Just because it worked in/on someone else's computer does NOT mean it will work on yours!

Only other suggestion I have is to do a clean install of the game, including editing the registry if you know how and then patching from 1.0-1.41.

Hey all, I've been going through the same crap lately too..
I tweaked with drivers, bios flashes, re-installs etc last night for about 5 hours but coudln't get the game running for longer than a few minutes. The last thing I tried might have done the trick. I was too tired to further investigate, but I did this: set resolution to 640x480
changed all the graphics detail options to low or none, launched a game and was able to play withouth a hitch, so i started turning options back on. Now, In gameplay, you can only tweak a few options, I turned those all back up to full and I turned animated geometry back on too. The game was still rock solid, when I decided to just quit satisfied that i accomplished something and I went to bed. I'll be trying to up the resolution and enabling options one at a time to maybe figure out what is killing the game. Maybe shadow detail or something.. who knows. The weird thing is, this game was solid on my old PC which had the same video card, but ever since I upgraded my pc yesterday, it crashes more than it plays. I've got:

P4 - 2.4GHZ C w/ hyperthreading
MSI 875P mobo w/ 800mhz FSB
1GB PC-3200 DDR KingMax memory
MSI GEforce FX 5600 w/ 256MB DDR
120 GB Maxtor 7200RPM
WindowsXP
Thermaltake Xaser III V2420AU
