Thread: Does she speak for the majority or the minority? | Forums

Hey fellow gamers, this is my first post so I hope I've put this in the right place. I came across this editorial by a SDSU student about dating/relationships and video games...specifically Halo 2.

My friend an I read it and didn't agree with the general message. My friend (who is a girl herself enjoys video games, but isn't a big gamer and wanted to get some feedback/input from some other girls who are. Instantly, I thought of this place, remembering the intellectual muscle I've seen flexed in the forums. (Say that three times fast).

So, what do you think of this...

So what that says to me is....

Hi, I am mad because my boyfriend would rather play virtual war than spend time with me. Oh yes, and I have a problem with farting. Why don't you all clinch your butt cheeks really really hard like I do and hold it in?

I need him to pay attention to me all the time, because if I allow this pile of **** that I live with the freedom to spend time away from me he might realize I am a controlling snob with a relatively low self esteem.

So now that I have made it abundantly clear that I lack the interpersonal communication skills and or the confidence to discuss this with my boyfriend by adding the line "you got that, Dan?" I will justify my claim with a 2 point argument that is irrifutibly sensless.

1 games are loud and 2 it's immature, face rapers.

Sweetie, I like me just fine. If you don't like that I play games, grab the nearest electric massager and go at it 'til the break of dawn. I don't care if you don't like me, because honestly after reading this pulp smack I don't like you.

In what oedipus complex world will my girlfriend/wife replace my Mom? In as far as changing who I am and what I like to do in my free time, and turning that control over to you, thanks no.
    I was married once already.....

Yep, I think that about covers it.
No really, it is this easy....

Enjoyable. It would have been more so had the author used more colorful hyperbole.

She is guilty of *** hoc ergo propter hoc, a causation fallacy, in this case "Halo 2 is responsible for Dan's immaturity."

She should play Halo herself. And find a new boyfriend.

Beyond measure, MM is smarter than I am. I think you may set the IQ bell curve brother.

"playing Halo2 and getting a piece do not go hand in hand".

How did this chic pass the sat?

LOL well I have to agree completely with Pac on this one. I wont even go off cause he said it all.

Amaizing she sounds alot like my ex wife, with a few differences. If she wanted to spend time together I did, I didnt put gaming in front of my relationship. Even though I spent time with her it didnt matter, in her opinion anyone who plays games (no matter how much) was imature.

    1. I can't wait to get into teamspeak tonight and inform my clanmates that "I'm gonna rape your face!"

    2. Pac and MM said it all.

    3. "I'm gonna rape your face."

    4. If my GF looked like her and wrote something like that, I'd fart on purpose...constantly...while shouting "I'm gonna rape your face!"...and farting.

litterly "With this, therefore because of this"

MooMoo you make me smile. I have not thought of that little jewel since ConLaw.

    But your point is valid.
I think if a person is blaming her relationship on HALO then she might reconsider the relationship.

as someone that does somewhat put my relationship ahead of gaming, i would say "get over it, u knew i was a gamer when you met me. My only advice is a hardcore gamer should go out with another hardcore gamer. They are the only ones that will understand where u are coming from.

and yes this woman probably speaks for the majoriy and that is what is sad. Sadder yet is that she never even gave halo a chance more then likely. How can u possibly understand it if u have never even experienced it other then hearing the "noise".
