Thread: Xbox Custom Soundtracks | Forums

  1. #1
I've been trying to get tracks of my PC onto burned CDs and then on to my Xbox soundtrack, but the **** thing won't accept them. It' my understanding that the files have to be CDA, but I can't convert them from Windows Media files. I've used Media Player, Real Player Burner and Sonic Record Now, but it still won't accept them. I've wasted 4 blank CDs and 3 hours of my life trying to do this. Pleae help

It's the Xbox ... Xbox wont read burned discs, CD or DVD. They have to be copyrighted or whatnot to read them.

I've been able to get my XBOX to read music burned on MiniCDRs. Not sure if the brand matters. They don't have any Brand name stamped on them so I'm not sure what kind they are but I got them off of neato.com.

It must be your box mate. I've got a few copied CD's and they transfered fine.

I found out the problem. I was using CD-R's, which the newer Xbox's (what I have), can't read. I used a CD-RW and it worked fine.

Maybe it was only my older Xbox which had the cheap drive. I haven't tried on my new one .. I'll have to see if I can this weekend.

I'd heard from somewhere that unmodded Xboxes couldn't read burned stuff.
