Does anyone of you already own the new naval sim Dangerous Waters ?

    Dangerous Waters

Its not yet released in europe but im thinking of buying it. I also had 688i and Sub Command.

If you have played it , im very interested in your opinion about it .

Excellent modern naval warfare sim. Not as graphically nice as SHIII, but gives a good feel for modern naval warfare. Can also command a FFG7, or a P-3 Orion or MH-60 helo.

I have it on my hard drive. Am currently waiting for a patch which will fix a few bugs.

    Highly recommended.

I see you can also play with an Kilo now.

Yeah the graphic has not improved since Sub Command.

The command consoles of the subs have been taken directly from Sub Command without any improvements.

Is my beloved Type 212 at least modelled as AI sub in the game ?

Kilo is my favorite boat!. Can also play with Akula II or Seawolf. No type 212 in DW in AI, but there is a mod called SCX IIc which you can drive almost any sub in sub command. I do not own sub command, but go to www.subguru.com to download it

i've also been thinking of buying it. heard its quite complex with a high learning curve.. suppose to come out on the shelves, but don't know when. graphics are not as important as realism and the campaign in my view.

That is the best part of DW in my opinion. The mission editor is awesome. I made a Chinese Kilo campaign of 5 missions!

Can't wait to get into SH III s mission editor!

    Ah great

    Thanks

Hach why do they leave my favourite sub out of the game ? Its much quiter than the Kilo and has a greater endurance.

The graphics are very very poor, but most of the time you will be looking at a sonar screen anyway.

Its majorly hardcore! One of the most complicated games I have ever played.

That said its an excellent game and there is a great Red Storm Rising campaign to download as well. If they jazzed up the graphics this would be an abolsute must have.

I've had it since it's US issue, and it's a good game. I have to admit though that using nuke boats that don't have to worry about battery power, air, and have long range weapons seems to take some of the fun out of the game for me.
