I really like this answer ... must mean music, news, propaganda ... too bad "Sentimental Journey" was written in 1948. Anyone have any favorite songs to mod, but has to be sub sim years, now.

Q: Godzero: When you get close to a Port (like Tokyo) will you be able to tune in and here enemy propaganda on your radio? (like "Tokyo Rose")
A: The game implements a full radio simulation that is very moddable. The game will be able to tune into differente frequencies, by using the radio. Also there is an antenna simmulation. Each radio in the game will have (except for it's own frequency and music folder) a configuration file that will explain exactly where (on the globe) and when (the time period) its antennas were available. Depending the state of the war some japanese antennas might go out of service, wile the Radio Washington ones migh appear instead. Also there is provided a strength for each antenna. Antennas placed on japanese mainland can be stronger than ones placed on remote islands. Taking this into account (also, the depth of the sub adds modifiers to the strength of the received signal) the player will be able to have a veri close to reality simulation of the entire radio traffic. Each radio station has its own music folder and also for each radio station news can be added. They will be played at specified periods of time, specified in configuration files. A modder could actually, for example, record two news (one for radio Washington, one different for radio Tokyo) about the allies landing in Normandy and have one on Radio Washington 10 minutes after the landing began, while radio Tokyo might receive this news 30 minutes later and have the other recorded news played then.

Yes I think that the new radio feature is a nice touch.

For those that like to be on the conning tower during a bit of real time sailing, SH4 offers the uniquness of quite a long time in game play doing absolutely nothing except watching the waves, sky scenenery, listening to the radio and chilling out

With this feature being fully moddable, I'm sure that we will soon have about 1 gig of authentic WWII radio music in our folders when modders find all the appropriate recordings and the dl's start again.

Seems like everyday that goes by, just little news like this just excites me even more.

By the way RT, it's good to see you on a regular bases, and am glad you will be sticking around for SH4.

Time to start looking for some Bob Hope USO tour shows, this should be a challenge.

Hi tuddley3 nice to see you, thanks for the kind words and I endevour to be more frequent on SH4 forums than I was on SH3...SH3 was/is a great game but as I often said 'my heart is not quite in it, sinking British ships'

I will only be playing one WWII style game on my PC and that will be SH4. I love the technicalities of submarine warfare and hold no qualms about sinking Japanese ships in this new Sim. This re-creation of events on our PC's is all good fun but underlying it is a virtual re-enactment of history !

Today of course is a different matter The Japanese are a respected culture which is cool, anyone for Sushi ??

I feel the same way as my FAther was in the royal Navy and was on a ship that sunk a U-Boat during the war..
