...then getting shot in the back by some magically spawning AI who somehow got into the room I just cleared which only has 1 entrance or exit and no windows.
You really did make those AI pretty smart! They figured out how to portal themselve around the world!
And another thing...
Terrorist hunt my ***. More like barrel fishing if you ask me. You ever barrel fished? You know, dump a bunch of fish in a barrel then get out your shotgun and go nuts?
My wife and I played a game of Vegas 2 Terrorist Hunt tonight. Our map of choice was Oil Refinery because we loved that map in Raven Shield... and before we get started I tell her;
Me:"Bring a light machine gun."
She doesnt like them, but agreed and did so.
---Map Loads---
Me:"Wait right here, I'm going fishing."
Her:"Fishing?"
Me:"Just get ready, trust me."
I run to the edge of the building and I fire my gun, about 2 rounds on auto, and I come running back to where my wife is waiting.
Me:"Now we wait for the fish."
And before you know it, there is a pile of dead AI in front of the truck... about 20 or so.
Her:"Fishing, thats clever. What happened to terrorist hunt?"
Thats what I'd like to know. I didnt know how to answer her question other than;
"Maybe they forgot it?"
Seriously though... What happened to this series? This game used to have everything other games didnt which had a HUGE appeal to it. My wife and I love tactical games, i.e. games in which running and gunning get you killed and skill and tactics are required... but we were so dissapointed to find out that a game we have been following since Rogue Spear has literally gone stupid... its like... "Gamers have gone dumb so instead of letting them seek out the terrorist AI, we'll bring the terrorist AI to them! FANTASTIC IDEA!" but the fact is, we, your long time elite fans of this series, are frankly dissapointed to the point that my wifes final comment about Vegas 2 was;
"Dont buy any more of this ****."
And sadly, I have to agree. The game looks amazingly good Ubi and we love the cover system and such, but porting a console game, which has obviously been dumbed down and made extremely linear for the console hardware limitations, to a PC crowd, especially long time fans such as us, is quite frankly...
Stupid.
Sorry, but we're done with the series and I'm sorry I felt compelled to come here to your forums to ***** about it but, I'm tired of buying console ports. I want a PC game made for the damn PC with PC people in mind... not to mention I want a Rainbow Six title that lives up to the glory days of this series.
Good luck with your business. I'm sure you'll make millions with the console crowd... but please, for the love of all thats holy and unholy... stop making ports. You're not very good at it.
Ciao.

V2 is a no-brainer run 'n gun product that even lacks EVERYTHING that similar type of games stand out the test of time.
I have real games in my collection that are over 10 years old and are still great fun to play from time to time, this product however is allready collecting dust after just about 2 weeks of really really trying to find something about it that i like.
Last night i felt like firing up some good old Doom 3, i played for an hour straight, totally immersed into the game....not a single issue or annoyance just plain fun then after quiting the game i realised i didnt even installed the latest patch, the game ran flawless just straight from the box..a 4 year old game
..now that's something you will never...NEVER see with an Ubi product.
Peace.

No..... NO no no. I'm sorry, in REAL life, if I was a terrorist and I heard gunshots from the other room I would NOT run blindly into the room wondering where it came from, and I CERTAINLY wouldn't do so while stepping over 4 bodies. I might not even go towards the sound. I might slowly make my way over, taking cover, holding position, etc. Running straight for the player is the simplest, most basic type of AI you can possibly program, and UBI seems to be too lazy to try to make the AI respond in any sort of realistic way. Perfect example: If you're playing, and get shot from some unknown location, what to you usually do? Run for the nearest cover would be my guess. What does the AI do? If they're sprinting across a field towards cover and you shoot at them, they will actually STOP, rotate around to survey the area, backtrack slightly, then run towards you if they live long enough to spot you. Sorry, that's just not 'real life' to me.

Kiddies call it "Super Tactical" and well, since they are the majority buying this game... that's what UBI likes.
You know, if my selling market was a dumb as UBI's market seems to be, why bother making an effort? as a matter of fact, I may do what UBI does and work even less with each item I sell next.
Now, that is very short sighted on their part and that is, exactly, the part I like, the part were I wait for them to go Bankrupt or get off their butts and start doing the right thing. Oh, believe you me.. its coming!

the tactical aspect is one that you and your team mates have to make. A software company can only go so far. You would take cover while your superiors point you off to do battle. In most wars you are marching over the bodies of your fallen comrades....so i dont think taking cover in a 3rd person view where you can see people that cant see you is the answer. On the other hand a tango should be reporting the situation to other tangos who would take caution on approach, but it isnt uncommon for the brut force of a platoon punding down on you. They are expendable :-P
