Folding@Home is a distributed computing project which uses idle computers to do scientific calculations on protein folding. More information is at the project's website, http://folding.stanford.edu/.

I thought it might be neat to have a Myst fans team. People can participate by downloading the client from the site's web page and setting the team number to 38809. We'd then be tracked as a team.

Is there anyone interested in doing this?

Reminds me of SETI@Home (which I already have, and sadly don't have the disc space for anything new....).

The concept is the same as SETI@Home. Personally, I just think Folding@Home's more likely to produce useful results
But, if there's interest in having a distributed computing Myst team, those interested could vote on which project.

One last try. Isn't anyone interested in donating idle CPU time to medical research just by running a screensaver or a background application?

I just read this and I think I'll have a look at it this weekend. I already have SETI running, but I think I can find a little space and CPU time on my machines at home.

I tried it, but everytime my pc went into suspend, it would lock up. So, unfortunately I had to un-instll it. But I gave it a shot!

Just wondering how this relates to Predictor@home , which is another project looking at proteins and how they relate to diseases. But this is using the Boinc engine, which Setiathome is being migrated to.
