im not sure if you guys know, but in mid december EA said it would buy 19.9% of ubisoft.
WTF? i know.
but Vivendi Universal and Infograms (other french developers) talked about ways to stop EA from taking over Ubisoft-and SplinterCell (What EA is probably after). Vivendi reportedly discussed merging with Ubisoft, but that is denied at this time. Infograms even says it would do what it could to prevent EA from gaining additional ground in Europe.
Last year, the french government even offered $5.2 million (4 mill euros) to aspiring french game developers looking to get thier companys off the ground without the aid of bigger companys (AkA: EA).
EA is getting way outta hand! they're consuming every gaming company! if someone dosent do something soon, EA will controll everything and spert off little clone/crappy remakes of the games they bought from companys (The Sims, Burnout, The NFL franchise, ect) -that eventually went bankrupt, which will all be the same and prevent you from buying the newest game of the series (seriously, take the madden franchise.... they're all the same!). This in turn will cause the video game industry to crash much like it did in 1984, when games where controlled my a few, verry large companys that kept making bland, cheap-o games.
I propose that we BOYCOTT EA games! EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO, <span class="ev_code_RED">BOYCOTT EA</span>! IF ENOUGH OF US ON THE UBI FOURMS DO SO, PERHAPS WE CAN STOP THE GIANT! SPREAD THE WORD!
