Hello everybody
I am having troubles with installing far cry but first ill tell you about my PC
This is the system:
Microsoft XP home edition
version 2002
Service pack 3
this is the Manufacture:
Optima technology solutions
Intel(r)
Pentium(r) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
2.80GHz, 504mb of RAM]
Physical address extension
I don't know much about that stuff.
This will sound very silly but our disk drive is jamming but then opens and it has gave Far Cry 2 a big ring about half way out from the center and it may be because of the scratch but i have another game that has the same circle and works fine
Now ill tell you about what happens
I put Far Cry 2 in the CD drive and after about 2 minutes of the computer reading the disc the menu were you can select
Play Far Cry 2 (but its not selectable)
Install
View Read Me
View Manual]
Register
Web
Quit
So i click on Install and i choose English language. Then Install wizard pops up and loads.
Then I click on next, agree, then i click on easy install.
Then all things are installing and its going along maybe a bit slower then a normal PC and then it gets to: Data_Win32\worlds\worlds.dat
and its taking for ever then at a bit past halfway it says
Feature transfer error
Feature: Data Win32
Component: Data Win32
File: D:\data2.cab
error Data error(cyclic redundancy check)
[OK]
and its still on:
C;\Far Cry 2\Data_Win32\world\world.dat
Then i click on [OK] and every thing closes that is Far cry 2 and there is nothing installed
Thanks in advanced.
Could someone please help me

Are you on an administrator account? If you're not, you should be.

The Data1 and Data2 are just protected, only the installer can open them. It does that for everyone.
