Well the first 16 are done and up now at www.flying-legends.net

They are not perfect as the area of checks under the tail on the long marked versions will testify but it nearly drove me crazy so I had to either settle or lose interest! Hopefully its not too noticeable. They each include a marked blank of the aircraft for flight numbers.

The short tail markings are shown on the -5-NT version using the "no-tail fillet" mod but are equally at home on the unmodded versions as the fillet was retro-fitted to 325th aircraft as time passed.

My sources were "Checkertails" by Ernest R. McDowell (Squadron/signal publications) and the website www.325thfg.org my thanks to both as they were invaluable.

I will probably do more as the skinning bug has hit me again so watch this space.

So here are my first attempts at the "Checkertail clan":

(Moderators, you can close or delete my initial "WIP 325thFg P-51D's" if you wish)

    Nice job, Bo!

Any reason why you released them singly instead of in a pack?

Is there a package download somewhere that I missed? Would like to make this a single click if I can. They are all fantastic!

Find my missions at Flying Legends and Mission4Today.com.

    Thanks guys.

In hindsight I would have been better releasing them in packs. The next ones (when I do them) will be.

The markings were just a distinctive way of identifying the group. Initially they tried black and white, then red and white before deciding to go with yellow and black.

Sorry if I stole your thunder with these Monguse, it wasn't my intention, but I've been after this group for some time.

Is the 52ndFg going to be released anytime soon? It may save me another tendonitis flare up!
