Thread: Has Collision detection improved in SS | Forums

  1. #1
    Folks,
GR2 was/is a great game. The one problem I had with it was that the collision detection for zoomed sniper shots could be dodgy. I have often needed to fire several sniper rounds (zoomed) into an enemies head to take him down.
    Has this improved in SS?

You're talking about hit detection. There is now blood when you hit the person. But it also depends where you hit them. 1 shot to the chest or head is a kill, but if the you hit the persons leg or even sometimes the persons arms are in the way of their chest and they will take multiple hits to kill.

I hate that redstorm implemented this kind of hit system with hit zones, it's terrible and it's what plagued socom 2 since the beginning.

Yeah, I meant hit detection. So it has not improved then?

None of the guns, including sniper rifles, are 100% accurate. Just because you're aimed at their head doesn't mean the bullet is going to go there.
