I have been trying to update my SH3 from 1.0 to 1.4 and whenever I run the patch I get this message
"This program cannot update the installed version of Silent Hunter III EMEA DVD v1.0 to 1.3 because of the following reason:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\MissionEngine.dll: unknown version."
Any help would be great.

Do you have SHIII on disk or did you download it from website?

Im also having a similar problem. I downloaded it (re downloaded it actually - I purchsed it in 2005) from direct 2 drive.

Please follow the link to the v1.4b patches for SHIII. There is one for the retail disk and one for digital download. Use the digital download patch. If you still have problems I suggest you contact the company that you downloaded the game from.

Also if you have downloaded the game through Steam the game will already be patched. They have there own patch setup and the support.ubi patches will not work.

maxedout00 did you check out the Ubi site that has the downloads for the patch?
Make sure you select the right patch. There is a patch for the digital download and another if you have the disk.

thanks for ure reply my version is from focus revival there have told me its patched up it says 1.4 in the menu is this true? ps got a little problem you may also be able to help with when i play single player mission and save a mission load it if i get killed the enemy dont shoot its wered thanks if ure able to help with this yooperbacker
