I find it unrealistic that these aircraft operate in groups, but all that aside-has anyone ever had their flakgunners wounded by their machinegun fire?I've been staying surfaced and shooting them down for sport, they haven't hurt my crew at all despite spraying countless bullets off the boat.

Nope, machine gun fire in the game is a bit off, from Elcos not hitting crew with their machine guns to destroyers not hitting much with their AA fire. Including Hurricanes not being able to straff a barn door. I mean i know naval attacks took some training but, it really wasnt that hard!

How stable was the Elco as a gunnery platform? In the game I see them bouncing up and down in the waves, firing away in weather severe enough that the game will not let you fire back. I'm just wondering if they were an all-weather attack craft like they are in the game?

Yeah, I've had a flak gunner strafed and killed once.

Also a Watch officer another time ...

I guess these other folks have been lucky so far. I've also experienced crew injuries and damage to the boat when tangling with them.

I've had my entire watch crew blown off the boat before as well as had both my Watch Officer and the gunner killed my machine gun fire. Later in the war the pilots start getting some skills.

I had a deck crew killed along with superficial damage to the conning tower when a nearby ship exploded. I've been strafed a bunch of times - don't recall if I've suffered casualties. I have a vague memory that I may have but that memory may be faulty.

In March of 1941 a Hurricane dropped a depthcharge or a general purpose bomb and missed by VIIB of about 3 ft. One of my watch crew was killed. Hurricane came out of the clouds and yelled TALLYHO!!! I was running on the surface during the day like an idiot yelling I'm over here!!!! lol
