MAC crashes on Mission 5 | Forums

I'm on a:

Mac Pro
2x2.66 Xeon
6 gb ram
Ati HD 4870
Os 10.6.3

The game has been crashing a lot the 2-3 weeks I've been playing, but now I've actually reached a point where I can't seem to get around it. After mission 5 has loaded, while playing the intro, the game crashes to desktop. No error message or nothing to go by. I've tried reinstalling, disabling autosaves and replayed the previous mission (hoping it would somehow overwrite a progress-related bug). Nothing has helped. Is UBI or bluebyte aware of this bug? If not, should i deliver a bug-report, somehow? And if they are, is there a patch on the way? I would really like to keep playing the campaign as online play intimidates me somewhat.

Thank you for your post.
We are actually aware of a problem on MAC that sounds pretty similar to the one you experience.

Are you running the game on high details ?

You could try to reduce details and start the map again.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. I am running the game on the lowest setting available, actually. I've tried turning on and of several features, and now they're all "off".

I can stil play skirmish just fine, but it has crashed a couple of times while zooming out. Seems a little random, really.

The crash on mission 5 occurs just as the princess is about to start talking to her advisor. Just as the dialog is about to start.
