I sure hope they do and for months and take care of the first patch before released....

Often I'm stumped. I hear games go through extensive beta testing, then released unfinished with many bugs. Then later beta testers will say "they didn't listen to anything we said."

Not sure how wrong it is to release games unfinished. I actually bought SH4 a long time ago. After a few weeks of play it went on the shelf. It was unrealistic and full of bugs. I was pizzed and decided then I wouldn't buy another UBI game. I tried again almost a year later with a patch and plenty mods it became the best game ever.

Maybe early released unfinished is good and bad if you have a forum of modders up to the task.
Myself, I would rather see them wait and release an epic.

Here's hoping that they do and that they will listen.

Ubisoft as a publisher doesn't like external Beta Testers. The Devs welcome them as long as Dan can choose them.

In my opinion, external Beta Testing on SH4 was largely a waste of time, because the version of the game being tested was not the current Beta version.

I found myself flagging issues that had already been handled in the current version that I wasn't testing. Other issues I flagged remained not fixed until patch 1.3 or 1.4.

The bottom line is that because Ubisoft never allocates sufficient time for game development, external Beta Testing is not really possible.

I had forgotten about this. Hopefully, it might mean that the game will be in a better state that SH4 was when they release it.

External beta testing is a problematic endeavor to say the least.

There is always one or more miscreants in the bunch who will ignore the NDA they signed off on and release information, or worse, actual beta code for the game.
Most, if not all publishers these days don't want their IP ruined by a bad apple in the barrel.
Then there are always bugs that aren't noticed or can't be reproduced until the code is in the hands of the masses. Run on a much wider range of hardware configurations. The devs have precious little time to go chasing after intermittent bugs that will only ruin gameplay for a few players.

In this regard, Ubisoft needs improvement in tracking every anomaly in the games they sell. With subsequent investigation and allocation of the resources needed to fix them.

If they did that, external beta testing wouldn't be required.
