The exact same thing happens to me. Load up the game, and it just restarts without warning, and windows saying it recovered from a serious error.

Just read this and don't know if you guys fixed it yet.
Have you tried updating your video drivers... had a similar exper. when I tried the PREY demo. Had to use Beta drivers to fix it.
-
My drivers were already up to date (6.6), then I tried the Omega drivers, but that didnt work, and now Im back on the catalyst drivers. Also, I have been able to run Prey successfully without any problems.

What is your sys. info: cpu, ram, video card, sound card, etc??
Have you tried re-installing before?
-
Pentium 4 3.0GHz
1.5GB DDR Ram
Radeon 9800XL AGP
Sound Blaster Audigy
I have tried reinstalling a number of times but got the same result. It looks like it restarts just as an intro should play.

Hi Willmaker,rexter123456789
If the game starts up ok and runs fine for a few minutes then the problem could be your power supply. Your psu might be below par, 300 -350W or simply just faulty. You really need a 400W psu when running the latest graphics cards. Nvidia recommend a 500W supply for an sli configuration.
Could also be a cpu or videocard overheating issue, you don't say what motherboards you are using. if you received diagnostic software with your pcs try installing it to monitor the cpu and graphics card temperatures, on most modern mboards you can set it to notify you when the temperatures exceed a set point.
Some games are just system breakers, if there is a weakness in your set up they can cause system lockups or restarts. MS Flight Simulator 2004 and then GRAW were those games for me. Everything else ran fine but crashed the PC for
these games.
The latest system killer is TES IV Oblivion, the game would not even start and crashed my PC every time, blue screen of death, until I updated both graphics card and motherboard / sound card drivers.
Hope this helps.

Nope, it doesnt run period. When its about to show some intros, it restarts the comp.
I have both Motherboard monitor and Speedfan installed, and have gotten no overheating warnings. I have also got a good enough PSU, as I have no trouble running other games. Its just this one.

Hey Willmaker,
*Have you updated your MoBo BIOS lately?
*Not sure if there's an update for your Audigy? There is an update for OPENAL32 (Updated July 14, 2006) for Sound Blaster.
http://developer.creative.com/articl...&top=38&aid=46
Look at bottom for attachments... that's the download link.
After you run the OpenAL installer... (copy the OpenAL32.dll and wrap_oal.dll) from C:\WINDOWS\system32 into C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter folder. It will ask to overwrite... that's normal... select yes.
*Stop Anti-virus and other background items before starting game.
See if any of those might help...
