Thread: Crosshair mod v1.0 | Forums

  1. #1
After testing it for a day, I made a Crosshair mod for CoJ2. My goal originally was to make crosshairs invisible in ironsight, but it looks like its either with crosshairs or without alltogether...well atleast I made it kinda smaller now and I know the huge crosshairs bothered some peeps so here is a quick fix

Just download and extract into main CoJ2:BiB folder, no need to backup either.

3 Different styles to choose from:

    1. No crosshair
    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nz2yntdjdwn

    2. Counter Strike style crosshair (dynamic)

    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mm4dzqgxnkk

    3. Quake3 (static sprite)

    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zwuhrdzewtn

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uninstall instructions are provided in Read_me.txt

    For modders:

For anyone that don't know, DataX.pak files can be opened with winzip/winrar.

All that I have done is modify 2 lines in hud_new.scr file, I replaced default numbers with zeroes, thats it.

Rect("hud_crosshair" - this is the dynamic part of crosshair, the actuall CROSShair

Rect("hud_crosshair_helper" - this is the sprite part of crosshair

This is just a script file that draws sprites from hud_new.dds file located in Data0.pak\Data\Menu\Hud\Textures
Someone should try to edit hud_new.dds file for custom graphic crosshairs.

The game uses first the files from Data directory, so if you extract the file from any DataX.pak files, it will search for the file in Data folder first.

Man am I going to flunk the exam tommorow.

    Ok have fun!

Many thanks! Haven't tried it yet - but I look forward to doing so. ^_^

Great work! It would be awesome if you could remove the ammo counnter of the hud that shows up everytime you reload. Just a suggestion of course, I reckon it's not too easy doing that stuff :P

Fantastic mod. There should be the open to turn off the crosshairs in game. It makes it much more realistic for me. Bullets fly everywhere and the normal AI I started on has a chance.

    Thanks!

I made one that removes the crosshair_helper.

If wanted I can make the above no-crosshair and static.
