Welcome to the 9th rebirth of the Anime Thread!
This is your returning procrastinating host Yolky and I'll be with you for another 99 pages worth of shenanigans if our thread doesn't melt the servers.
Upon returning I had to think deeply on the theme I was going to go with AT#9. To further this thread into Japanese corruption, I have decided to go with a chibi Touhou to enlighten the rest of the forum of it's greatness
You might see something a bit different this time around beside aesthetics. Leading with a battalion of drama titles behind her, Roxy will be sharing duties as co-host. The 'A' in AT not only stands for Anime but also Asian going forth. I'll still be managing the anime section (among others) while Rox handles all other Asian material such as the Drama and Manga. So make sure to check out all sections of the new AT to take advantage of the new offerings.
Anime Newbie? Love all things Asian? Don't worry, you'll fit right in.
Here in the AT we are a happy family (Rona is the pet penguin that provides us with an endless supply of ice for our drinks), so feel free to ask anything ^^
What is Anime?
In the simplist terms, Japanese animation. TheOtaku.com defines it as "A new type/style of drama in Japan which uses fictional, 2-D characters instead of real people, and has many different genres (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Adventure, Comedy, Romance etc) and each Anime has is own suited, mostly not targeted age groups because of the varying elements of maturity within the different shows themselves."
Sign me up! Where do I start?
A good introduction of yourself and you anime experience is a good way to begin. Once you have been logged into the registry, the vastness of this thread will start to envelop you. If you need suggestions of something new, just give a shout. Everyone here has their own tastes and will gladly help you. Whether your are looking for a calm romantic slice-of-life or Q's Eyestabby gallery of horror, we've got the goods to satisfy your cravings :mh:
History
Here are the predecessors of this thread. The evolution of the the glamorous AT minus a good chunk due to the Great Rewinds. Ask us about it one of these days, but make sure you have lots of time to lend. Only #3 and #7 survived, the others remain lost but active in hopes they may return to life one day.

Why do we exist? Why does any of this exist?
- To expose the rest of the forum, friends and family to the wonders of anime
- To have a place to discuss anything anime/manga/asian related
- To create a close knit "Family" to bombard with facepalms
- To apply our gained knowledge from anime to real life situations

To make sure all our residents and guests have the most comfortable stay, we ask that you follow these simple rules and regulations while you are here. First and foremost, stay on topic... :indiff: I'm just messing with youIf you go off topic when replying to someone that's alright. It happens. We have replying formats to help direct those unwanted topics to the proper person. Here are the few rules that we make no exceptions on:
- Respect Everyone
- No Hentai
- No Derogatory Slang
- No Flame Wars. Please take issues with other people to Private Topics.
- Don't Worry, Be Happy
Replying Format
@Name:
When you write it in your window, it should look something like this:
Remember it. Use the reply method, copy the code from a previous post. Unless you are replying to someone above you or use a specific quote. What most people do wrong is making the colon bold or colored. Colon is outside and not colored. Look at the code above. Also, to ensure general readability and understandability of your posts, you should use full sentences. Instead of ‘Well that sucks.’ In reply of a topic that is already 3 pages gone, you should write something along the lines of ‘Well that sucks we don't have spoiler tags cause Nikki just spoiled another plot point for herself.’ If you’re replying to a post just one or two above yours though, you can use whatever broken sentences fragment you like because we ourselves are broken and fragmented human beings. To the Bat Cave!Code:@Name:
To add another thing to the Reply Format: As I said, you can use quote tags, but please keep them to a minimum and don’t quote the quote of a quote of another quote. They may be useful for replying to something a few pages ago, but we’re the AT and not a ladder factory employing penguins.
Spoiler Format
Where there’s talking, there’s spoilers. Since we do not want to ruin everything for the people who haven’t seen the anime yet, we use Spoiler Tags and since this forum doesn’t have that function, we just created a workaround.
Always use purple color tags as spoiler tags. See how hard it is to read?
"Anime/Manga" Spoilers
Your paragraph...
This is how it will look in your window:
Stylish CSSCode:"Anime/Manga Chapter" Spoilers Your paragraph...
Due to past odd color schemes I've had to adjust the colors to be easier to read. It also helps with keeping our spoiler tags relevant until we decide to go with the new default in the event the CSS style is changed. To use this code, download Stylish for Firefox. (If you don't use Firefox, any CSS editor should work). In your status bar there should be a 'S' icon. Right click and write new style for forums.ubi.com and paste in the code.
