Thread: Switch to combat mode without warning? | Forums

I have noticed that in one moment there are no enemies, and I can move my characters as I want to, and in the next moment Orks appear, and the last move done before they showed seems to count as if it had been made during combat.
That means that the character last moved before they showed up cannot be moved again, and is an easy target for them.

Also, when I tell a character to wait so that the next I click on can move first, waiting is all the character does during that combat turn. After reading the manual I had thought that a character who is told to wait would still be able to move during that turn.

Am I mistaken, or has that happened to you, too? It's very akward, is there any way to prevent this.

I don't know about the first problem, but when a character delays, they are moved to the end of the combat round. you can see thier color indicator move to the end of the line when you click on delay.

The loss of movement during combat can be attributed to the way the party moves and the individual initiative scores: When you run, your party isn't as alert as when they're walking normally. (And I do hope you are running through POR's endless corridors ) Encounters ofter get the upper hand in this situation and get to move first. Then there's initiative. Some members of your party are more agile and alert so they ofter roll a higher 'initiative' score, resulting in them moving first,

Then again, it could be a bug

As for the waiting and loss of turns, Williampmccarth is right, you can select the option 'delay' during combat. By doing this, your characters will be able to fight at the end of a round instead of becoming bait.

Well there are reinforcements to prolonged battles and yes it does act that way. You are at a disadvantage because they likely have gotten surpise on you which means a free round for them.

If all else fails outrun the halfling.
