    1st confirm if your PC actually meets the minimum requirements LINK

    Next make sure you have ALL your drivers up to date; SOUND, VIDEO, CHIPSET (MotherBoard) etc. With the release of new ground breaking titles, the video card manufacturers especially regularly release updates.

    Ensure that you have the very latest version of DX9 (XP) or DX10 (Vista) installed

    Creating an online profile: Enter your ubi.com user name, password, then CD key. Online key = CD key.

    In Vista, if you receive a black screen when starting up the game: Fix

    Punkbuster and Vista 64-bit: There was an inoperability with PB and Vista 64-bit. The issue seems to have been resolved with a PB update from EvenBalance.

    If your game is running in windowed mode, alt-enter should fix this. We are looking into this as well.

    Any CD keys that were invalid on Tues/Wed should now be fine. If your CD key is still invalid, keep in mind that a letter O is likely the number 0, and letter S is likely number 5.

    If you receive the SecuROM message "Emulator detected", and you don't have any emulator software installed, this message can also be caused by CD/DVD burning software. if you right-click on the FarCry2.exe in the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Far Cry 2\bin folder, select "Launch Analysis". This will generate a file which they can either send to ubi support or SecuROM support that will help us determine the cause of the problem. Once the file is generated, you must email it to either Ubi Support or SecuROM support. SecuROM's FAQ.

    Client Gameports used by FC2 are here

    How to launch a dedicated server through command line:

    1. Open the FC2 server launcher
    2. Modify the settings as desired through the UI
    3. Once done, select "File, Save config as", and you will get an xml file
    4. Now you can start the server using that config file by executing:

    FC2ServerLauncher.exe -start=[configfile]

    where [configfile] is the absolute path to where the file is saved in step #3.

    Example: D:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Far Cry 2\bin>FC2ServerLauncher.exe -start=d:\config.xml

    Keybinds Work around - Once you've created your ONLINE PROFILE join an empty unranked server, press ESCAPE and go into the OPTIONs.
    Navigate to the CONTROLS section of the menu - click on DEFAULT then remap your keys and APPLY.
    The keybinds you have set will now work in SP and MP - though there are still some issues with keybind actions.

    :: Replace DISABLE_OPTIMISATION=TRUE with DISABLE_OPTIMISATION=FALSE
    :: Save and close DARE.INI
    If your issue is not listed on here, please also check the support FAQ, which is updated regularly as new solutions become available.

    Please note that some community based fixes have been listed above, these are not suported by Ubisoft at this time and are to be used at your own risk.
