I am surprised it took this long to get a Stevie Ray Vaughn track on Rocksmith. I'm also surprised I have not seen any of the following guitarists added:
Bob Dylan
Daron Malakian (System Of A Down, Scars on Broadway)
DimeBag Darrel (Pantera,Damageplan)
Jimi Hendrix
Johnny Cash (You seriously don't have it already?)
Robby Krieger (The Doors)
All of them are very good guitarist\songwriters and I would really like to see thier work on Rocksmith. I'd be ecstatic!
As for a list of bands I believe should be considered for DLC:
AwolNation
Bernard Hermann (Taxi Driver Theme composer would require conversion, Realistically I don't see you doing it unfortunetly.)
Bob Marley
Chevelle (A personal favorite)
Coheed & Cambria
Coldplay
Deftones
The Doors
Filter
Foster The People (Thank you for adding Pumped Up Kicks)
Including the video of Houdini on acoustic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=212dgo6G7PE
Including the video of Helena Beat on acoustic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmuoBeZ4q5Y
Godsmack
Gorlliaz
Gotye
Grateful Dead
Grandaddy
Incubus (Honestly, I think you chose the least listened to song that they have lol or atleast here in NY)
JIMMIE'S CHICKEN SHACK (For the love of god PLEASE add this band, Great guitar riffs from Jimi Ha-Ha. You would make my day!)
John Murphy (Another composer, one track in particular would work well I think) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST2H8FWDvEA
KoRn
Linkin Park (why not)
Lou Reed (The Velvet Underground\Nico) Specifically requesting two tracks The Gun and Heroin. Will "Pretty please" help?
Maryilyn Manson
Matchbox Twenty
Metallica
MGMT
Muse (More Of?) Thank you for having two tracks at least.
Phil Collins
PHISH
Pink Floyd (Really you dont have any of this either?)
Radiohead (More Of) Thank you again.
Rage Against The Machine
Ray Charles (I'm aware he played piano not guitar but I can hope)
Rolling Stones (More Of) Requesting two tracks in particular: Paint It Black and Sympathy for the Devil
Rush
Santana
Serj Tankian (His solo work, Don't forget about SOAD)
System Of A Down (Favorite band in history, You NEED SOAD in Rocksmith)
Simon & Garfunkel (Come on, I mean, Come on)
Skrillex (Eh, good luck with that one *rolls eyes*)
Smashing Pumpkins
Staind
The Stranglers
Talking Heads
Tool
The Who
There, I think that should cover plenty of years and plenty of genres. I would LOVE to see ANY of these added or added on to (RadioHead\Muse)
I will be playing and looking for these in the future.
Props to you as a company for revolutionizing the way musical games are played. You are heroes among the Gamer\Musician world. On a side note, Why the heck are the cables not sold individually as well? I want to play two player with my two guitars but i would have to go buy a WHOLE game. I don't see why.
EDIT: Upon review I realized I missed an important piece of history Black Sabbath.
Also A7x (Avenged Sevenfold)
