I just got the game today. I installed it and all. But i get the 2001 ERROR.
is it normal that the key looks like this?

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering if Ubisoft had fixed your issues with the serial key?

I've recently contacted support (four days ago) and have yet to recieve a reply. My problem is that it accepted my serial key as valid but just opens the activation box again and asks me to resubmit it no matter how many times I put it in successfully.
Anyone else having this problem?

Sent one on the 23rd, had a little back and thro but it's been five days since I've gotten a reply.
I can accept christmas day being something everyone should have with family and all but this is painful when I can't even play anno 2070 when friends overseas went and sent me a gift-wrapped physical copy in time for christmas and I have nothing to show for it because I'm stuck before I even get a foot in the door.

Disappointed needless to say, and I can't exactly return my gift without leaving a sour taste in my mouth.

I have the same problem. I bought the game from UbiSoft website.

I followed the instruction and send in a question via support platform. No one has ever replied to my question. I called them twice, I was told to wait again. The first time I called, they said I will receive an email from them, No email has ever been sent to me except the automated confirm email when I posted the question. I think this might be the last time I bought anything from UbiSoft. If the key does not work, then I dont know why it was emailed to me. If I cannot get a refund, I will go to Consumer Protection.

I'm also having this problem.
I purchased Anno 2070 from Amazon, installed it, it automatically downloaded an update then I get the "error 2001" when I try to enter the serial number.

I've just asked a question on the support page, I take it there is no quick fix to this problem?
Only days or weeks of chasing ubisoft on the support website?
