Thread: Multiple Users? | Forums

  1. #1
I was searching for a way to create different users for the game but I can't seem to find this option anywhere. My kid wants to learn to play. I want to be able to switch to a different user so he can have the songs customized to his ability, not mine. The only thing I can find is multi-player but I do not want to play at the same time. Besides quitting the game and logging into the ps3 as a different user is there another way to do this.

You can use a different storage option when you start up the game, to have two working saves - one for yourself and one for him. I use the XBOX 360 cloud for my saves, but my girlfriend uses the local HDD. I imagine you can do the same kind of thing with a USB memory stick or something on the PS3.

Just make a new profile for him and the game will be fresh and unplayed for him to level up.

Having him log in under his own profile before launching the game is the best option in my opinion. No worries about making a mistake and loading up the wrong save files. I tend to be pretty protective of my profile. I like my xbox gamer score and achievements to be all mine. Same with my PS3 trophies. But that is just me.

The 2 posts above me will work. A new profile is the way to go. When you log on to RS, it prompts you for the start button. If no one is logged in to any profile yet, it will come up with a profile selection option.
I made the mistake once to let my wife's sister try to play on my profile. She said she can play guitar.. BIIIIG mistake, it took me 2 days to get back to where I was since she bumped me back to easy street..

    Howdy, ya'all!

I don't think there is anyway to have a second profile for the game without creating a new user on your PS3! Is there a reason you would not want to do that? Like PanchoX1, I am quite protective of my PSN ID. I would NEVER let anyone play ANY game under my profile. That said, I understand why you would ask this question. In our home, everyone knows to use his/her own PSN ID to play their games. If you are concerned that your son might get into something you would not want him to, you can use parental settings to help keep your children safe! That's what I would do...I think that learning to play any instrument is good for any child! *smile* Set him up with a PS ID of his own, and watch him grow!
    Happy day, ya'all!

I think the thing people are seeing is that playing guitar is an activity that is social. As such people will come down and ask to try out the game. It is very disruptive to sign out and add a new user to PlayStation then sign in your friend to play. We just want to hit the change player button and have multiple users inside the one game sign on. Its much more fun to be able to play a turn then hand the guitar to a friend and let them play a turn than go through all the user ID changing pain. It would be great to tell the system 2 people are playing at the start and have it change users after each round.
